FS: Carvin HD2000 (w/factory bass-friendly mod) and DCM1500 power amps
Selling two great, bass-friendly Carvin power amps. Pics to come later.
(1) Carvin HD2000, brand new, used for maybe 2 hours max. This amp was modded by Carvin to have an input sensitivity of 1.0 V, which allows it to pair with a greater range of bass preamps than most power amps (many instrument preamps do not have enough output to drive typical power amps). This amp is also incredibly light at 9 lbs. Wattage ratings are:
1 CHANNEL RMS continuous
- 8 ohms: 400 watts
- 4 ohms: 600 watts
- 2 ohms: 1000 watts
BOTH CH RMS continuous
- 8 ohms: 260/260 watts
- 4 ohms: 500/500 watts
- 2 ohms: 850/850 watts
BRIDGED RMS continuous
- 8 ohms bridged: 1000 watts
- 4 ohms bridged: 1700 watts
Asking $315 shipped to the continental US. This is for all intents and purposes an unused amp, and that price is a slight discount on the new price with no charge for tax, shipping, or the sensitivity mod.
Carvin DCM1500. This power amp also has an input sensitivity of 1.0 V and therefore is great for pairing with bass preamps (unfortunately Carvin stopped using the 1.0 V sensitivity in their newer amps, which is why I needed to have them mod the HD2000). This amp was my workhorse for years, so it is well-used, but it has always lived in a SKB rack and is in good condition and works perfectly in terms of sound. However, potential buyers should be aware that the internal fans do not function entirely correctly anymore. This means that the amp runs VERY hot. That said, it has always performed perfectly at gigs and has never given me even the slightest hiccup. It also runs much cooler if you don't push it into clipping. Carvin also sells replacement fans for $20, so this is probably an easy fix for anyone more savvy than me. Wattage ratings are:
