I'm selling my Dr. Bass Rx115 cab. The Rx line is now discontinued, but this was there "lightweight" series at the time. The cab was bought new in 2008. I had it custom loaded to my liking. It is a 600 W 4 ohm cab (most of the Rx115's were 300 W at 8 ohms). I also had them substitute the cheap Pyle tweeter with an Eminence APT-series tweeter. It sounds
great... but I need money for home improvement. I'm asking
$300 shipped anywhere in the continental US.
I really need to sell it outright, but
I'd consider a trade & some cash for a small reverb pedal (e.g.
Malekko Chicklet, T-Rex Tonebug,
Electro Harmonix Nano Grail, or equivalent). I'm also in search of a fitted case for my Fender Mustang bass. If you've got either of these and wanna deal, let me know.
This cab has
never been gigged. It has been babied. I used it for practice for a couple years (in a few different practice spaces), then moved it home and it has sat in the corner of my basement for the last year. It even still has the plastic plug in the 1/4" jack. This cab is really light and
really loud!
Now for the flaws. The cab has a small ding on the front edge near the bottom. I had nothing to do with that, the cab arrived that way. Dr. Bass offered to replace it, but since I had waited so long for this one (and it doesn't affect the strength of the cab) I chose to keep it. I tried to get a good picture of it, shown below.
There are also a few small holes where I tried to fabricate a custom head mounting bracket. These holes are very small and nearly impossible to see. The holes do not go all the way through, they are just surface level. I tried my best to get a picture of one of them.
Other than that (and a bit of basement dust), I think you'd be hard pressed to find any issues with it. The dimensions are approximately 20.75" X 18.5" X 17.5". It even has the rubber pads on the top so it lines up with smaller (15" deep) Dr. Bass cabs.
This is an
awesome sounding cab. It's deep and growly like a typical 115 but has surprising mids. The new version, called
the DRB115, sells for $399 new + $39 shipping. For all intensive purposes, this is the same cab (but the DRB series is a little bit heavier)
and you can avoid the 6-12 month waiting list. It needs to go to someone who will play it rather than sitting around collecting dust.
Any questions, PM me or post below. Thanks.
