Ben Fargen of Fargenamps.com in Sacramento California makes custom-made to order, hand-wired, point-to-point, all tube guitar and bass amplifiers using only the absolute finest components available. I commissioned Ben to make me a bass amp that had a Class A preamp section like the classic Ampeg B-15 using a pair of 6SL7 tubes, and a Fender Bassman power section using four 6L6GC power tubes and Mercury Magnetics Fatstack transformers. The result is the Fargen Bass Custom. This all tube bass amp puts out around 120 watts RMS of pure, classic, warm tube tone. The amp has a 4-ohm tap and an 8-ohm tap (a Neutrik Speakon connector for each one). The cost of this amp was $1500. It is still brand new, having never left my non-smoking home, and I only played through it for about two hours (no kidding). It sounds fantastic! I am guessing it weighs about 35 to 40 pounds. I am asking $900 plus $50 shipping to the lower 48 states.
