FS/FT :|: Ashdown Labs AD600 Rig

Sign in to disble this ad
FS/FT :|: Ashdown AL-AD600 :: Ashdown AL-C210H :: Ashdown AL-115

TRADED BACK TO 45mckay105

This has been my main gigging setup for a couple years now and is AMAZING. It's incredibly loud when you need it to be, but is very easy to dial back down. For anyone not familiar with this exact setup, this was the Mark King signature model that they rebadged when his new signature model came out. Prior to me getting this, the grills were painted black to be more subtle than the original gold, and HIGH end wheels were added at the same time. The Korg tuner is NOT included, and I have the original Ashdown Labs blank which will be put in its place.

It's important to note that this does NOT have to sound like Mark King, in fact when you tune out/off the harmonic emphasis, this can sound like a very old-school tube amp. It's really incredibly versatile.

I am taking a break from my gigging band due to some health considerations, so I'm mostly playing in praise and corporate situations which only require a preamp. I also have another suitable live rig if the need arises. Also, I am NOT in a hurry to sell this, so the price is firm. New these things were a TON of cash, I got it in trade from our own 45cmckay105.

Ashdown links:

AL-AD600 Head
AL-C210H Combo
AL-115 Cabinet

Shipping? - I would be willing to split (50-50) the actual shipping costs (that includes packing etc) with a prospective buyer. I would be driving this to the shipper and handing it off for packing/shipping.

For a complete TB history, I sold it to 45mckay.. and had bought it from the original owner Nalapit13. It is a completely TB owned rig. A very fine piece that if I had the extra cash would seriously consider pickin up again!! Bump for a great and rare rig!

Yeah, eyeballkid has brought the history indeed!!
Ridiculous how versatile this amp is.

The 2x10 combo by itself is thunderously loud, and the reason I went back to 2x10 speaker cabs from 12's.
I used to do bar gigs without the 15, and did NOT have to push this thing at all!!

Worth mentioning, for you audiophiles out there, that the 15" cab is loaded with a SICA Loudspeakers LP 385.75/N360 WT 8ohm 350W Rated/ 700W Musical Professional Woofer. Italian thunder!!

What can I sell?? What can I sell??

Hey thanks for the note on that! I forgot about the speakers...

You're absolutely right, I have played a few gigs with the 2x10 and no FOH support and never had to turn up much at all. In fact, I think that I only used the 1x15 b/c it looked so cool! The 15 does add a nice bit to the tone, but definitely not required for sheer power.

Are the freq. centers for the graphic EQ, the same on this amp, as the Mark King signature Ashdown?

I can't find anything specific in the documentation, however judging strictly from the online literature, and the screen printed front panel the freq. centers are identical. In fact, if you look at the manual for the MK500 and compare it to actual AD600 amp, it appears that it is one in the same (there's a new King signature that's different). The cool "lady" graphic is also missing.

Hope that helps.

Okay cool.......other questions I forgot to ask in the previous post.
-Is the speaker in the 15 cab a full range speaker, or low freq. speaker?
-You want $900 for everything we see in the pics?
-Is that amp hand wired, point to point, like the MK500?

Robert, if I may answer for you...(correct me if you find anything incorrect)..
-the 15 is full range, just like the 210s.
-his original post specifies that you would not get the Korg tuner in the picture but in its place would be the Ashdown Labs gold painted space panel to cover the gap.
-this amp is EXACTLY like the MK500 just with a different paint job.. BUT the MK500 was not a "hand wired, point to point" amp. They are both hand assembled, but that is different than what most people would call "H.W.P-t-P" like in older tubes amps like a Hiwatt or something. These are made in the UK and Dead on Reliable with a very lively tone that is quite flexible!

one thing I believe Robert didnt mention is the rear panel has a studio grade Digital Recording Out that Ashdown discontinued due to the added expense but is one of the coveted aspects of the Labs heads for recording purposes.. most high on the excellence scale.

Robert... too bad youre not interested in 4 strings.

$900 is for everything except for the Korg tuner... though I could part with that for another $50 if it pushed you over. It's the Pro (5 inputs on the back).

Oh... and HUGE kudos to eyeballkid for helping me out... I've been very busy and am not watching TB very closely right now

They're definitely on the heavy side, I'm guessing ~50# for the 1x15 and ~65# for the 2x10. I can carry each of them by myself up 2 flights and into a club, but I definitely feel it by the time I get to the top.

Was talking to eyeballkid about this rig last night. Check my profile and posts Robert and let me know if anything interests you. Wouldn't mind getting this one back!

If nothing gets your attention, good luck with the sale/ trade.

TBers...RobertUI is a class act to deal with!!!

My appologies for not reading the original post thoroughly when I initially read it......I'm pretty busy nowadays, so I have a tendency to skim over things too much.
I've been "debating" with my live in chick on buying this rig......and so far you'd think I was Obama and she was John Boehner if you were a fly on the wall.
I keep telling her what a KILLER deal this is, but you know how women are. (Will ya take her in an even trade?)
Seriously though, if you decide to split the components of the rig up, how much would you ask for the Ashdown amp alone?
