FS/FT 1964 Fender Showman (FEI, blackface)

Up for sale or trade is my 1964 Fender Showman. This is from the Fender Electric Instrument era. It's a 4 ohm, 85 watt model. The amp was just gone over and given a standard capacitor job as well as fresh JJ tubes by my local amp guru. It has a 3 prong cord installed. As you can see in the photos, it's not a beauty queen but it really gives up the goods sonically. Gorgeous cleans with tons of headroom and beautiful, thick bottom end thump that only big iron delivers. They sound great for bass!

$800 shipped CONUS.

Trades: I'm interested in trading toward a vintage Fender bass. I will consider other trades.

I'd guesstimate the weight at ~50 lbs.

I've gotten some questions regarding the amps impedance. That's what makes this amp quite an anomaly and somewhat rare. It has a 125A29A output transformer which makes it a 4 ohm (Dual) Showman but it's not labeled as one. This may have been a Dual Showman in regular Showman clothing which shipped before the Dual Showman faceplates were introduced. All transformers date to 1964 (6064XX).

I would be all over this if it was 8 ohms.

You could always swap the transformer for an 8 and keep the original around for originality's sake!
