FS/FT Accugroove 112 cabinet & Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0

Sign in to disble this ad
Great gear in near mint condition. Only played in studio practice & low volume gigs. Just not my sound so looking to sell or trade for Mesa Boogie Walkabout amp or other MB head.

Accugroove 112 custom prototype: has two tweeters and a 112 speaker; 400 watts; 8 ohms; 25 lbs; 15" tall, 17" wide, 17" deep. Awesome for acoustic bass.

Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0: awesome microamp with tube preamp. See specs: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&m...sid=610&cid=95

PICS: http://s202.photobucket.com/albums/a...0GB%20Shuttle/

I would prefer to trade one of the above for a MB amp. Or I'll sell either item for $525 shipped. Or will take $1000 shipped for both.

I have a MarkBass Little Mark Tube - with padded case - that I would like to trade for your GB Shuttle. Excellent condition and functions flawlessly. Interested?

How old is the AccuGroove? "custom prototype" tells me this is going back to the early days.

Not sure of age. It is in mint condition and I bought it directly from Mark at Accugroove a couple months ago. I actually think it was a new design they were toying with, but I may be wrong... It is a great cab, but I am going with a 4 ohm cab instead.

Thanks everybody for your trade offers... but I really only want a Mesa Boogie amp... M6 or M9 or Walkabout or MPulse 600.

Wow, it really is a unique Accugroove--- the regular Tri-112 has a 12" and a 6" speaker, and a tweeter. This one has no 6". And thus is not a Tri-12. It's just a regular 112. Like you said!

Mark makes great stuff, and 3-way and 4-way cabs have always been the thing that differentiates the AccuGrooves. This is a departure for him.

So, tell us how this sounds, compared to the "classic" Tri-112L, or other 112 cabs!

The new 2x8's from Accugroove look interesting too. I ought to drive down to San Jose and give them a listen.

112 description

To be fair, I have only really directly A/B'd it with a Mesa Boogie Scout 12 Extension cab (with the radiator). Extremely different cabs... not even really fair to compare (such different sound ideals)! The MB was scooped with huge bottom and top, doesn't even sound like a 12 : ) The Accugroove 112 was much smoother in the mids.

I did own the Tri112 a few years back. I think this Prototype 112 is lighter, even easier to transport, and a better match for a double bass player. I found its response to be very even and "uncolored" compared to other cabinets. No frequencies pop out, whereas some 112s seemed to be tuned much lower or more midrange heavy. This one does have that "nasal" 12" sound in the mids, but maybe a little more in the higher mids. Not a great cabinet for slapping (it doesn't really have that "hi-fi" snap that some cabs do). Loved it with my fretless, and thought it would be a great cab for fingerfunk or acoustic.

Hope that helps!

GB Shuttle still for sale/trade

The AccuGroove cabinet has been sold and shipped.

The GB Shuttle 6.0 is still available for sale or trade. I will now come down to $450 shipped. For trades, I would like to get a Mesa Boogie amp, or possibly another micro amp that I haven't tried yet (e-mail your trade bait).

Sold

The Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 has been sold.

Thanks for all the trade offers guys. Now it's time to buy that Mesa Walkabout amp -- or maybe Eden WT550 -- if you got one you wanna sell for $500.
