FS/FT Alembic F-1X preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
This item has been Traded for Markbass f1 and is no longer available

Up for sale is an Alembic F-1X preamp that is in really good shape inside and out. There are some cosmetic scratches, but nothing really major. It is currently running a JJ ECC83 tube. The preamp is running 100% and sounds great. Full of chewy, tubey goodness!

I kept this preamp around because I anticipated using it for studio work, but recently, I've been having great success with solid state Great River preamp and a modded Ampex 351 (for tubey goodness), so I do not feel a need to keep this around. I also have not needed a large rig for gigging in years.

For sale $430 OBO shipped CONUS.

Trade for or towards:

Micro head (TC Electronic, Markbass, Tecamp Puma, etc.)

Thanks for looking. . . sorry about the number of pics. I just like for people to be clear about what they are getting. Please note: There is a racking scratch that I JUST MADE putting this amp back in the rack after taking photos. It appears on 1 photo at the bottom and not on the other photos. Also, please note there are 4 allen head screws missing from the sides of the case (pictured). I have no idea what happened or if they were already missing at the time I purchased this preamp because the last time I moved this preamp from the rack was years ago, and it has pretty much remained in storage with only occasional use since. Structural integrity of the case in my opinion is still very sturdy, and I have not been negatively effected by these missing screws.

1) Those have to be the sharpest pictures I've ever seen on this forum.

2) Killer preamp

3) I enjoy the use of the adjective 'chewy' - beats the hell out of 'punchy'

I'm very interested!

Is this switchable for European voltages though ?

Hmm. . . that's a good question. I think it would probably have to be modified to run 220.

It's OK, you just have to swap some little things about, I think I can manage that.

I may be incorrect, but I believe the stock tube is a Ruby.

PM'd. I have a Markbass LMII that is in very good shape with rack ears. It has scratches from the previous owner. It has lived in its rack bag since I purchased it. I can email photos to you by Monday night. It is at my friend's studio. I may have a low res picture somewhere.
