Carvin BX1200 amp in great condition for sale. This amp comes with the tolex case and the FS22 footswitch. Basically, the BX1200 is the predecessor to the current BX1500 models except the BX1200 is solid state and has slightly less power. The BX1200 is a "dual" mono block amp that can push 2x 275w @ 8 ohms, 2x 400w @ 4 ohms, and 2x 600w @ 2 ohms OR 800w bridged @ 8 ohms, and 1,200w bridged @ 4 ohms. There is a separate speaker jack for bridge mode on the back of the amp, so you don't need a bridge mono speakon cable. The EQ on this amp is extremely versatile and includes regular and semi-parametric as well as graphic EQ sections.
The FS22 footswitch can be setup to engage/disengage the Mute, Graphic EQ, or Effects Loop. Currently, I have it setup for Mute and the Effects Loop. Speaking of the Effects Loop, whenever I had something hooked up in the loop, the switches on the front of the amp didn't make any popping noises at all. When I didn't use the Effects Loop, the switches on the front of the amp made popping noises, so I usually just turned down the Master Volume when flipping a switch to get around that. My original BX1200 had the same issue, so I sent it back to Carvin. They sent me a brand new model the very same day they received my original amp, and it had the same issue. To me, that's nothing serious especially since I've been using the Effects Loop anyway.
The amp did sorta cut volume a bit a few weeks ago, but turning the Master Volume up and down fixed it, and I haven't had that problem since. Somebody said the control probably just needs some De-Oxit.
I feel like I'm still barely touching on the features of this amp, so feel free to e-mail me for a PDF copy of the owners manual so you can take a look yourself.
This amp is very powerful, and I've used it bridged into a single 8 ohm cab. The reason I'm selling is because I want to go with a separate power/pre setup.
My BX1200 was one of the lighter models they made just before introducing the BX1500, so my amp weighs around 24 pounds with the tolex case and about 15 pounds without the tolex case (and this head is rackmountable).
I'm asking for $325 shipped in the 48 contiguous States. As for trade offers, I will consider some nice bass preamps, so let me know what you have.
The first pic below is my actual amp; the second pic was borrowed from another TBer's ad and is NOT my actual amp, but it shows how the amp looks in the tolex case.
I also have this amp listed locally on Craigslist.
