FS/FT Feeler - SWR SM-400S

This amp has done me well in the time I've had it. I traded it for a Fender Jazz Bass on CL a while back.

The only reason I'm posting it is because I'm moving to a place where it won't get much play, and I need the cash.

That being said I'm not completely against a trade deal, but it would have to be a Jazz bass or a Micro Korg.
I don't have much use for anything else currently, but I like looking at other people's stuff, so it's always worth a shot.

asking price = 350 obo (shipped)!
These usually go for about 400 and I'll even throw in a banana cable! (some bozo on ebay is trying to sell his SM 400 for 1200!!)
Mine is in excellent condition, there is a sticker with my avatar on it, but other than that it looks great.
I can take pictures if anyone is interested.

Here's some copy-pasta from another thread. Apparently the SM 400-s was pre-fender. Check any review online, these amps are/were very popular. After playing this amp for about 6 months I can definitely see why.

The SWR SM400S is the legendary amp that made SWR famous; the SM-400S Bass Amplifier provides the power, performance, flexibility and portability needed by the professional bass musician for every style of playing and nearly every situation he/she will encounter. The amp features an all tube preamp section, a limiter using Field Effect Transistors, tone and equalizer controls utilizing Integrated Circuits and two individual power amps employing discreet, solid state devices. The power amplifiers in the SM-400S can be used individually to provide full biamp capabilities when used with the built-in adjustable electronic crossover or can function as stereo, 250 watt power units. If you need more power, the amps can be bridged for 400 Watts @ 8 ohms or 500 watts @ 4 ohms. The SWR SM400S has every conceivable input/output jack you'll ever need and provides huge, clean tone with amazing note articulation, clarity and ultra-fast transient response. For full info/specs, go to the SWR website.

* All Tube Preamp (12AX7 Groove Tube)
* Two Discreet 250W Stereo Power Amplifier Section (Bridgeable)
* Biamp capable with Adjustable Crossover
* Aural Enhancer
* 4-Band Variable Graphic Equalizer

my only amp for the past 15 years - never failed me once and still hasn't. still think it's an awesome amp.
but a Read Purity paired with a Stewart World power amp stole me away. I'll never get rid of my SM400S tho.

yeah, I have to say that I've really been impressed with this head even though I don't have much to compare it to.

I really don't want to be without a head, but I'm not working on any projects right now, and I think it's only gotten maybe an hour's worth of play time since the summer started.

Thanks for the PM Eric, I'll get some pics up as soon as I can, but today's payday, which means I'm busy as hell!

I've already got a couple of nice offers, I can tell this baby's not going to stay for long.
