FS/FT :: Genz Benz GBE600 Head ($400 Shipped (CONUS))
I have had this head for a few years now, and it's been used for nearly every gig that I've played with my current band. I have decided to move on to my new Ashdown setup, so I'm offering it up for a good deal to a TB'er. I have the original box and packing material, so it's nearly ready to ship. I also have the pictured 4 space rack that I'll ship the amp in for an additional $100 (the weight of the rack is around 20#). The original 2 button switch is also included. Traded with montanamike... this is gone
NOTE: I upgraded the preamp tube when I got the amp to a NOS RCA preamp tube that really does make the amp sound uber special.
You all should be familiar, but here's the info from GB: The GBE 600 is a high voltage, high current pro audio based power amp design capable of delivering it's conservatively rated power into resistive and reactive "real world" speaker loads. With its internal fan and active "cooling tunnel" under the massive heat-sink, the GBE 600 is capable of driving a 2 ohm load all day!! Our unique thermal circuitry provides advance notification of impending thermal shutdown, in the case of blocked air flow or insufficient fan speed.
This powerful amp is rated at 275 watts @ 8 ohms, 425 watts @ 4 ohms and over 625 watts @ 2 ohms. FEATURES • Active/Passive Input
• Signal Mute Switch
• Tuner Out
• F.E.T./12AX7 Tube Pre-Amps
• Tube Gain and Volume Controls
• Channel Mix Switch
• Input Status LED’s
• Signal Shape Circuit with L.F. Extend, Mid Scoop, H.F. Attack, all Adjustable (Min.-Max.) and Footswitchable (Optional 4 Button Footswitch Available)
• Active 5 Band Equalization Section with Two Shelving and Three Peaking Networks • Comprehensive Amplifier Status LED's
• Master Volume Control
• Unique "Soft-Limit" Circuit
• XLR Direct Out with Pre/Post Sw.; Ground-Lift Sw.; Adjustable Level Control
• Effects Loop
• Speakon™ and 1/4" Speaker Outputs (2 each)
• Dual Voltage 115/230V Toroid Transformer
• Switchable High/Low Fan Cooling
Here's an album with pics of the amp and the case as it's set up. http://picasaweb.google.com/robertbu...eat=directlink If you're interested in the rack, but don't like the stickers, I will gladly (though reluctantly) take them off and clean it up.

The rack works wonderfully, and it's definitely protected my gear. Here's a not so great shot of the head / rack in action. Ignore the dork in the foreground.

Does a great job tuning, as long as you are not in a hurry for the notes to register!!!
It's even funnier to me because I have one in my rack as well!!
Really tough to see that little green light outdoors on sunny days too!!

I have a Mesa M-2000 up for sale, and an NV610 (that isn't listed)... I may be interested in one or both of your items. Would prefer to trade the head though.
I'm also local. |

In my mind the GBE was more powerful, had more tonal options that could be engaged quickly and was tighter and punchier than the Ampeg.
I use only Genz Benz now. GBE750 / ShuttleMAX 6.0 / Neox 112t / Neox 212t

Had no PA support and didn't have this thing above 4 and was filling up a big field with great bass tones. I had many comments on how great my rig sounded, and I was loving it on stage. I have a LMII that I usually take to small club gigs because it is so easy to carry but it doesn't fill it up like this amp and really it's not that heavy. This is a great deal for an almost classic amp. |
