FS/FT: Mesa Buster 210 Combo $600 Firm SOLD!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
This like new 1998 model comes with all the original paperwork including the tag, and it has just recently been re-tubed with Mesa tubes. The tone is amazing, as is everything else about this combo. They don't make these anymore, and I can PROMISE you that you won't find one in better shape. It is literally as new. If you are gassing for a Buster 210, this is the one you want. I just got it, but trust me I'm in no hurry to sell it. I bought it on the premise that I would try to sell it immediately, which is how I justified it to my fiancee. I would also be willing to trade for basses or small rigs only, but I am picky so be forewarned. I am looking for mainly four strings. Also interested in trades plus cash. My main preference would be cash, $600 local pickup/delivery within 150 mile radius, or $700 shipped. I am seeing people pay $750 for the Buster amp itself, so this discontinued combo is a good deal in my opinion, especially considering how good of shape it is in. I've played through alot of gear, and I swear this 200 all tube watt combo will hang with many 410s. I have a lakland 5er, and this little thing handles the low B perfectly. It has the signature tube warmth, but is also extremely articulate. Don't miss out, one in this good of shape won't come around again.

It's really an incredibly sensible design. The cost associated with building such a unique cabinet probably ensures we'll never see it become commonplace. But wouldn't it be nice if every bass amp offered so many placement and transport options?

The only question I have is whether sealing up the drivers in such a small space impacts the sound. Clearly you're making some compromises to give the tubes enough air...

Sensible Design? Yes. Lightweight? Not exactly. The Tone is unbeatable, though. Simply magical. BUZUMP

Bump for a lower price. I edited the original post with the new prices, so if there is no response on this, it goes to ebay. Also, the cab is ported, so even though the drivers are enclosed in a small space, they are infact quite boomy. I often turn the bass down on the eq a bit to compensate for it.

Yeah, I bought it to sell. I'm a broke college kid so I can't really justify having a mesa in my bedroom. It's an awesome amp, and I hate to get rid of it, but I need to be playing on budget equipment until I graduate/win the lottery.

Not trying to burst your bubble but you asked for feedback so here it is. You're asking between $150-200 too much for the Buster, regardless of its condition. The Buster heads aren't selling for as much as you think. Although their asking prices are sometimes too high, they're not actually selling at those prices. The last auction for a Buster head on ebay had a price of $750 and got no bids. Remember, equipment is only worth what you can actually get for it.

I love the 2-10 Buster and the 1-15 Buster as well but here's the skinny on your amp. The 2-10 model is too heavy, too expensive to maintain, and very oddly configured. Not odd for sound purposes or transporting, they sound great, but oddly configured for actual use on stage. How many times have you seen beer spilled into monitors? I've been playing for 40+ years and have just about seen it all. Guarantee you a bass player doesn't want to put the bucks into a Buster and have a beer spilled into it or have the grille stepped on or a drumstick go between the grille into a speaker. The controls location is not convenient to adjust either. If someone planned to keep this amp at home, well that's another story. The bottom line is, these amps don't actually get a lot of real world practical use. If they did, Mesa would still be selling them. I've been using Mesa equipment over 20 years now and have used everything they've made.

I wish you luck on selling this.

Ok, well I'm gonna need luck selling it after everyone reads all that... anyways this is a great amp, and if I'm asking too much for it, then I'll adjust the price. I'll do $600 local pickup, $700 shipped. If I can't get rid of it for that, I'll keep it, because regardless of what has previously been said, it's a great amp with fantastic tone.

Regardless of the previous post. These combo's absolutely rock. The 2x10 is not hard to manage, it's easily portable and tube amps by nature are more expensive. The is an excellent price for this one and Mesa builds stuff that lasts so I wouldn't worry about any issues. I wish I had the cash.

Read the stickies guys. Posts like this are inappropriate. If you do not like the price and want to haggle, send a PM. This kind of post that argues with the price requested
and then proceeds to list all the poster's views on why the item sucks is actually against forum rules for the Classified Section.

If you have a beef with a seller's price, go private. Don't clutter up the thread with your subjective viewpoints as to why you think the product is flawed. That stuff belongs under Amps.

I actually find a lot of the pricing on TB to be very, very good. In fact, I have sold stuff elsewhere for more that didn't get even a whiff on TB when offered here for less.

From the sticky:

A: Sellers are entitled to ask any price they want for their item. Please do not contact a seller regarding their prices unless you’re interested in purchasing the item. Also, do NOT question a seller's price in a For Sale thread. Making offers is OK, but thread interference will not be tolerated. (HD's edit)
