Ampeg SVT5-Pro (American Made)
The Good:
With an output potential of
1350 WATTS, this thing BUMPS!!! I have used it for outdoor shows, medium venues, and have even been able to dial it back for smaller venues. The hybrid tone is just as an Ampeg head should sound. And if the buyer is interested in acquiring the rack that this guy has lived in, that can also be arranged.
The Bad:
As much as I have loved this thing, the Overdrive Channel has stopped putting out (the prude). No matter what I have tried, I am getting no sound when the overdrive channel is engaged. The clean channel works perfect, but it seems the overdrive channel is dead. This is a bummer, b/c the second channel is modeled after the Billy Sheehan Preamp that Ampeg has since discontinued production. The problem maybe a very easy fix, but I minimal technical knowledge of electronics & have no further desire to dump money into an amp when what I really want is ALL TUBE!!! Aside from the overdrive channel being shot, there is only minor rack wear, with no major blemishes or faults.
The long and the short of it is that when the overdrive channel went out, I wanted to grab an Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp/DI Pedal and by-pass the preamps by plugging directly into the power amp. This way I still had the tone shaping ability, with a functioning overdrive at my disposal. Again, this is not an ALL TUBE option so I am currently over it, BUT that doesn't mean a potential buyer can't steal me WONDERFUL idea.
In the least, it is an American made 1350watt single channel hybrid Ampeg.
And with that in mind... my asking price is
$350 OBO+shipping. I have the original box and packaging from when I purchased this guy last year. Whether you are looking for a "fixer-upper" dual channel amp, or a BEAST of a single channel hybrid, you won't get this type of power and tone at this low of a price.

The SVT6-Pro has since been sold, but the BBE Sonic Maximizer is available to sweeten the pot for any interested buyers.
Very manageable for one person, but definately not as light as my F1.
