OK folks, I have two specimens of vintage tube goodness here. I will preface this by saying both sound better than any SS head I have owned, however, I am realizing that I am just too lazy to haul these heads around after being spoiled by micro heads. I will likely regret letting either go and am still on the fence so may change my mind here.... there is a good chance that I may keep one of the two but am listing both for now. Anyway, on to the goods!

First is a mid 70's Ampeg V4B. I bought this from the local GC a while back- it sounds awesome, works 100% and still has the original Magnavox 7027's. I saw no reason to remove them b/c it sounds great. The tolex is in very good shape and the face plate shows it's been used but everything is legible. You will notice in the pics that the rubber has worn where the three prong chord comes out of the head. It still works fine and a little electrical tape will cover it right up. In the interest of full disclosure, I removed the tape for the pics. I also purchased a new set of feet from Fliptops which I have yet to install. I will include them.

Next we have a super rare Traynor YBA3 Custom Special! It is possibly a prototype from 66 or one of the first production models from 67. It uses 7027A's and was not modified. It has barely used NOS Phillips power tubes installed. This baby has some cosmetic defects, like the nice upholstery tacs on the grill and some tolex peeling around the edges, but functionally it is rock solid and the guts are what counts- the previous owner had a full go-over done by Yorkville/Traynor (I have the paperwork to show it). It sounds incredible and has zero functional issues. It has been upgraded to a three prong chord. Please see full info from the thread where I purchased it:
FS/T: '66 or '67 Traynor YBA3 Custom Special

As far as prices, these are pick-up/meet-up only. I will not ship but can meet you anywhere off 95 from DC up through DE, SE PA, etc. Basically within about an hour and a half from zip code 21014:

Ampeg V4B- Dropped to $550
Traynor YBA3- Deal Pending

If the price on the Traynor seems higher than what these usually go for, please note the amount of work done in the original thread linked above- the guts are as good or better than any other YBA3 you will find! The NOS power tubes alone run over $200 for a set. With that considered, the price is more than fair!

For trades, I am *very* particular in what I am looking for:

-Genz Benz Streamliner 600 or 900 (Preferably the 900)
-Hartke LH1000
-Mesa M6 or M9
-Fender Bassman 1x15 TV combo (the 350 watter)

On to the pics. My camera skills are awful so the Ampeg ones are not so hot. I am using the pics from the previous seller on the Traynor. See that thread for more. I have cleaned the Traynor up a bit but his pics are so much better than what I tried to capture, I am going with them.

The Ampeg V4B:

The Traynor (again, see the original thread for more pics or the Photobucket album where I housed these):

No impedance selector on this one. That's the Ampeg pics.

And really, you could always use a second one

Ahhhh that makes much more sense now, silly me.

I really wish I could honestly justify owning a second one, especially with this one literally being up the road! Truth is I'm actually going to be using mine less on the road...but not for any sonic reasons. I've used this head exclusively for years.

Someone will be thrilled to by this at that price!

Hey, thanks! They are both great amps.

The Traynor is now gone- straight trade for an 84 G&L L2KE in legit "road worn" but rock solid condition for frame of reference in the event one of these should happen to come up again.

The V4B is at least temporarily off the market. It may be back up soon with a cabinet but I am still trying to figure out my plan amp wise. Closing the thread for now.
