Sup TB,
Ive recently made some upgrades in my amp set up and i am now letting go of my long time power amp, this is a Peavey Classic 120 Tube Power amp, its been with me since 2001 (most likely built in the 90's) and been used primarily for recording and rehearsal as there is usually something bigger required for gigs and provided by the venue. Some time around 2004 the amp was re-tubed using fresh units from Tubedepot.com (you can see their logo at the base of the tubes) the 120 watts are created using (4) x 6L6 power tubes and (3) x 12AX7 pre-stage tubes. It takes up 3 shallow depth rack spaces.
I used it with a GT tube pre and DBX compressor pushing a Mesa/Boogie 2x10 and i got some serious vintage vibe out of it. If you have dealt with tube power amps before you know they get way louder than the wattage rating of a comparable solid state amp, it gets as loud as my 240 watt SWR read head combo! It makes pretty decent volume but is not enough for larger gigs and its HEAVY! where this amp really shines is studio sound and or small gigs where you need quality over quantity, you get some really nice warm, thick and old Skool creamy tone.
The amp has a trim level for input signals so you can get just the right amount of drive to the power amp, its got a DI out and a stand by mode, the unit is self biasing so swapping tubes is easy, great option for those tone meisters who are looking for specific sounds out of specific tubes.
The amp is in great working condition, it did not get much use since it was re tubed so they have plenty of life left in them. I would rather keep this transaction local because the unit is very heavy, i would say about 50 lbs but i would ship it if you are willing to pay for it.
$300 local ( + shipping for out of town)
Trades: Im willing to hear what your offering but mostly open to pedals such as delays and other fun stuff (i already have an octave, Synth pedal, Dirt, EQ and Comp, so it would have to be pretty damn cool to catch my interest).
