FS/FT Peavey T-MAX 500 WATT HEAD

Sign in to disble this ad
"SOLD" Peavey T-Max bass amp. Two channel pre amp section lets you use solid state or tube or combine the two. Amp is in fair condition, rear rack ears are bent (previous owner did not want to shell out the cash to buy a rack that was big enough). Other than that amp works fine and is loud as hell.

$ 335 shipped CONUS

Will consider trades for a loaded Fender or Warmoth P-bass neck.

Good luck my friend. These heads are vastly under rated and under priced. I've got one that I love and it's got tone for days.

it has both tube and solidstate preamp. The two are selectable as channels, or you can combine the two.

Any interest in other heads? I've got a nice SWR Bass 350 I'd swap for it. I like Peavey gear.

These are very versatile heads, and well worthy of having as a main head or backup. I kept mine as a back up and for small/med venues. It actually has a very nice voicing and is pretty sturdy.

It is not a stereo amp, just tube and solid state channels. There is a button to defeat the EQ.It does have a DI out.Built in crossover.

Nice amp.I've had mine for 13 years now and still use it for a weekly bluesjam.

BUMP!

Keep in mind it's a passive x over, so you have to bi amp to make it work.

Here is the deal on bi-amping with this head......

Some amps either have two power amps, stereo amp, or direct out for Hi and lo.
This one does not.

It has a preamp out hi and preamp out low.

You can go into the ONE power amp that this head has on-board AND use an external power amp for the other channel......or for both. This head will ONLY give you one channel of power amp. Keep it in mind if you intend to Bi-amp.

The X over is a x-over, but not a TRUE X over. It will let you select the freq to X over and the balance point, but will NOT filter out the Hi's or Lo's. Keep that in mind too.

It is a good utility head and does what it is set up to do well.

I have run it in X-over mode, and straight up, and as a preamp into a power amp, and from a preamp into the power amp on board. All of the features and functions work well with this model.

The EQ is really decent, the DI out is really good, and it has a padded input and will go down to 2 ohms.

Lots of features - and as a matter of fact, I am using mine at our next gig. One of our power amps for the PA went out, and my QSC is going in there for the show. It was a toss up - Peavey T Max, or SWR......this time - the Peavey gets throttled.

I didn't know how else to say it.....

brain damage sucks......

more of a frequesncy range selector, as opposed to an actual filtering X over.....

more better?
