SOLD: Pre-Fender black/chrome SWR Interstellar Overdrive preamp

SOLD is one SWR Interstellar Overdrive Preamp. This one is the pre-Fender black/chrome faced model, with blue power LED. These are great tube preamps, featuring a 12AX7 preamp stage and a gain stage using two EL84s. It's great for delivering authentic beefy overdrive, but the clean tones you can get from it are outstanding. It also has a speaker out jack which allows it to be used as a surprisingly loud all-tube 5 watt power amp.

Cosmetically, the unit is in decent shape, with the usual rack scratches on the top. Mechanically, most of the shaft of the master volume pot has snapped off. The shaft was bent before I purchased the unit. Like a fool, I attempted to straighten it when it snapped off. There is, however, enough of a stub left to control the master volume. The potentiometer can probably be replaced fairly easily - I never did it because it wasn't a problem for me. The missing knob will come with the unit.

Soundwise, this thing is simply gorgeous. It was retubed with new Groove Tubes (including a matched pair of EL84s) about a month ago, so these have about 2 hours of total playing time on them. Please note that this unit does NOT come with the optional footswitch or pedal.

Here's a link to the IOS user manual for your reference: http://www.swrsound.com/support/manu...rstellarod.pdf

SOLD for $270, shipped CONUS.

Trade options include:
Bass synths (EH Microsynth, Markbass Super Synth, or - heaven forbid - Akai Deep Impact)
Boss Looper pedals
Envelope filters
Digital recording interfaces or standalone digital recorders
