Yorkville XS800h
Power and tone to spare!! If you're looking for great tone (tube, solid state, customizable blends of both), great features (compressor, limiter, awesome EQ, etc, etc), and super solid North American construction, take a good look here.
I have owned this amp for just about a year, during which I have played it out on my occasional gigs. I bought it here on TB, and it is a really fine, versatile, and dependable head. There are myriad tonal options and a lot of great features. It also really cranks (800W at 4 ohms).
It has been fully checked out by the local authorized repair guys (King Amplification here in San Jose), and the amp is in perfect working order. It has a JJ tube in it now, and the sale includes the JJ currently installed, the original Sovtek WA, and an additional Sovtek LPS (higher quality). It also comes with a two-button footswitch, power cable, and balanced cable for the FS.
It has been racked in a 3-space Odyssey rack bag, which I will include in the sale. This is a great bag and is in very good condition.
Cosmetically, the face of the amp has some permanent smudges that are clearly visible in the photos. It seems that a previous owner may have tried to clean it with a solvent that took off some of the finish. It won’t win any beauty contests, but that doesn’t have any bearing on how great it sounds. It’s also missing a stick-on rubber foot on the bottom. I stuck a temporary foot on there, but when it’s racked it makes no difference. That’s literally all that’s wrong with it.
All that’s right, well, there’s plenty of that. The Yorkie/Traynor stuff has its fans, and many of them are here on TB. I am definitely one of them. I wouldn't sell it, but my Mesa Walkabout gets all the play in my situation. I can't justify keeping this head as a backup. It's too good not to be played.
