I get finicky when it comes to amps and occasionally need to shake things up a bit. As such, I'm retiring my 2001RB. This is a fantastic amp that can do everything from clean/warm/fat, to edgey/aggressive/bitey/grind, to full on distortion. Huge amounts of available power, lots of cabinet connection options, great features... All-in-all its really a wonderful amp. Includes all cables that came with the amp originally (GK speakon, power, MIDI, etc.) and the amp's footswitch.
The amp is in nearly new condition. There is a small amount of rack rash on the bottom of the amp. When racked its barely visible.
It just got back from GK to replace a faulty board. I've included the warranty repair receipt in the package. I plugged it in and tested it out (without removing it from the GK plastic wrap for shipping purposes) and it functions as perfectly as the day I bought it. If I had reason to keep two large amps this one would not be going away as I really do love it.. $875 shipped to the lower 48
The photos below were taken on my iPhone, which is sadly my only camera. The plastic packaging around the amp is from GK and I wanted to leave it on for extra security during shipment to the lucky buyer. That said... It certainly doesn't help the pictures much

| | | | Interested I have been looking for one of these but I have to say that it having to be refurbished doesn't give me much faith. Please PM me so we can discuss. |

To me, refurbished means that parts inside of the amp were broken and subsequently rebuilt. The repairs done to the amp by GK were in the order of replacement, not reconstruction.
For all intents and purposes it just means that the board is newer than the rest of the amp. |

I'm kinda the same way about it. I'm actually really interested in this head in general, and am about to pay retail for it. Had you not mentioned having to have it repaired (for I'm sure normal issues, and nothing serious) I'd have bought yours. GK heads are sort of known for their spinal tap qualities. IE: Blowing up without notice, and without hesitation.
I still want one though. I guess with amps I'd just prefer to buy outright, and get the full peace of mind of the warranty.
Decisions, decisions.
Over 500 bucks off retail though, is mighty tempting. |

The old saying used to be if a GK head was on for 5 minutes without dying then it would last forever. They some issues with the initial run of the 1001's which caused a lot of bad press but they are still known for their reliability and for their great customer service.
If I didn't have a Fusion I'd have bought this already. You guys are lucky

I already stand to spend way to much money this weekend. What's another 900... |

I would actually feel good about this one since it was repaired by GK and and not some off the wall repair center that tinkers with repairing miscellaneous equipment.
Who better to repair it than the factory that made it?
It's got more power than I need but bump for a nice amp and IMO a good deal! |

| | | | Apologies Hey guys,
Sorry for the poor choice of words. What I look for when I see things that have been worked on is the story behind what happened for it to need the repair. The seller provided that to me and once again sorry for the lack of a good thesaurus in my head haha -- I knew I should have studied more in school

I like how quickly things escalate on TB, haha. Here's the full story behind the replacement of the board in this amp by GK:
About three weeks ago I turned on the amp and the power LED blinked and immediately turned off. The amp would no longer turn on. I got in touch with Bob Gallien and Brian Clark at GK. They supplied me with an RA number and I sent the amp in for warranty service.
Last night the amp arrived back at my house along with a receipt explaining what was fixed. Apparently the original board in the unit had been faulty and needed to be replaced, which is exactly what they did. The board was not repaired and reinstalled, it is a brand new board.
All of the work was done by Gallien-Krueger at their facility in California. I wouldn't call the amp refurbished as no parts were rebuilt, but rather replaced.
I plugged the amp into my Schroeder 410R and it performed as perfectly as it had the day I bought it. I turned it on and off a couple times to let it cycle through the fault protection circuit numerous times to see if I could recreate the problem. The problem never happened again and I would deem the amp good as new.
I would honestly have as much faith running this amp on a gig as I would if it just came out of the box. |

Ack and such. Ok, they dismantled my division at the company I work for and cycled all of us into the main line, so I don't know what my money is going to look like from week to week now. Here is the deal, if my bank is still dependable, I'll almost assuredly buy this thing next week.
If it's still here. Of course.

Keep me posted. |

Just keep saying nice things.
I'm having problems with my only bass right now. So depending on what peavey says tomorrow when I ring em, I might have to put this on hold hold hold for a minute or three three three.
