Great used condition.

The volume knob can be scratchy at the very lowest volumes. If you know how to clean a scratchy pot, this one should be easy. I don't experience any scratch playing at normal levels. YMMV

Is that amp overkill in practice or small club settings?

I don't think its overkill. I used to use it at practice and it'd sound lovely. I think being underpowered is more of a concern than being overkill.

This amp will give you lots of flexibility in terms of what venues you play at, sounds great for recording as well.
