FS GK 400RB III with issues

So I got this head from my former fav/sole source store. It immediately developed and issue and the shop owner and longtime associate just shrugged his shoulders and talked some dirt about GK.... 20 yrs and thats what he says. He lost me.
Well the week that it was right I loved this head, punchy and clean. Then it developed this weird Fuzz sound and when it got warm power was cut. I learned that this is the RB III with a "D" board had a prob with the variable speed fan circuit. It'll pump 60v into a 24v fan. Yep my fan was smoked and I tested and viola...60ish volt output. Apparently there is a repair kit thats cheap....if you can get in touch with GK. I've tried and tried to no avail. So my fix was to install a 120v fan and connect it to line voltage off the transformer. Yeah it runs all the time....so what. Had to turn it on it's side to blow through the heat sink instead of on top. It gets great airflow on the heat sink and under the board.
Well didn't fix it so it's not a heat issue. Haven't really rung it out to see if it's the power or pre section that has the issue, would LOVE a schematic but....
The fuzz sound is exactly as if you have a torn speaker cone or coil was loose. A fuzzy distortion after a note is played. It took me a while to figure out it was the head.

So here in VA I can't find any repair shops close by who are confident they can fix it. So I'd have to ship for repair. I paid 230 for the head so shipping and fixing would turn it into a $400 head.

So if you live near or are someone who can fix this, it could turn into a good buy.

$75.00 plus shipping
