FS: Glockenklang Bass Art Classic head w/ case You know the one... Glockenklang Bass Art Classic Top I absolutely love this amp. But after not playing it for several years, I realize it should go to a new home rather than continue gathering dust in my closet. It was my rehearsal/studio amp for a time, but that amounted to pretty light use. Never gigged. It's been racked in this SKB case the whole time (and the case is included in this sale). It's always been flawless, flexible, and just a tremendous piece of gear. I can't say enough good things about it, and Glockenklang in general. Built like a tank, it should last a lifetime. I can't even find a comp to know where to price this, but new ones go around $2500, so how about six bills off that? $1900 plus shipping. |
BAC This is an outstanding head, with one channel of the lauded Bugatti for the power amp. They sold for about $3k, or slightly under. It has a lot of features: foot switchable tuner-out/mute, serial send/return, foot switchable parallel effects send/return, excellent EQ, power amp in (to use just the power amp stage), line out, excellent DI with level adjustment, passive active inputs with a trim on the active input, ... Glockenklang build quality is truly impressive. But the main thing is the audio quality, it is really great. All Class A circuitry, if I remember correctly. A wonderful head and very rare in the US. Thanks, Jim. :) I haven't gotten a single nibble on this yet, but it's going to make some player very happy when it goes. |
BAC You're welcome. This head is also great for Double Bass. I read an article in Double Bassist about 6 years ago on what amps some famous players used. John Goldsby, of the WDR orchestra, used the BAC head and probably still does since they're pretty much indestructible. Also, a guy named Vincent here (Vunz) had the 300 watt Bass Art head and sold it. After several other rig experiments he ended up coming back to Glockenklang and buying a BAC head (specially configured with a mic input and phantom power). He uses it with the fantastic Glockenklang Acoustic Art MKII cabinets for BG and DB. So, it might be worth posting over on the DB side as well (if it's allowed). FWIW, Jim |
Cool! Good idea on the DB side -- I'm going to do that. Mac |
Probably the best amp I've ever heard. Amazing. Good luck. |
The best to me too,i have the Bass Art head and one MKll cab and one Tedd, and its excelent quality gear for both bass and DB. Recently i got the Bugatti 300 and its hhhhhhugeeeeee sound. Its to bad you have to sell it,you will never get the same sound. Good luck with the sale. |
