Howdy TB. I've got too much gear so unfortunately this awesome one-rack space tube preamp has to go. This pre gets rave reviews here on TB for being fat and warm, but it's versatile enough to be clean, articulate and punchy.
I got it from a fellow TBer almost 6 months ago and it's in the same great working condition as when I got it. Power supply works just fine. A few scratches and rash from racking, but the front looks just fine, except for a few letters that are fading. Here's the post that I got it from that has more info: FS/FT? Kern IP777
I'll post a link to pics when I get home.
Trying to break even on this, so asking $675 shipped CONUS. Paypal or cash equivalent. Sorry, not interested in any trades at this time.

Read the post attached at the top with a description by the TBer I got it from. Here's how he describes it:
"There's always a question about the power supply, so I'll attempt to describe this one. Coming out the rear of the unit is a short cable with an XLR end. This connects to a longer XLR cable that runs into a small box with a power cable coming out the other side. I've no idea if it is factory done, but I really doubt that's the case."
The power supply has been a non-issue for me and shouldn't be a major concern.

I don't really know anything about the IP777's wall wart setup, but the wall wart version has always been my preference if I ever got one. The only downside I could see for a gigging rig would be the normal barrel coupling that's held in by friction. If it's actually an XLR that locks in place, it would be quite ideal IMO. |

The short cable that comes out of the preamp with the XLR at the end is fixed inside the preamp, and the the connecting, longer cable (which has a transformer box roughly in the middle of the cable's length) also has a corresponding XLR on it so it's totally locked in and snug. Sounds great. |

Les Plopa has said on more than one occasion that he feels the wall wart version sounds better and I've read a couple reviews which back that up, which is what has always had me interested in getting that over the internal PS version. |

Have you?

Until then...this baby's sold pending payment. I'll keep this open for now.
