FS: LDS 15/6 nEarful cabs BRAND NEW!!

Sign in to disble this ad
***UPDATE as of Wed Sept 7 at 11:50am California time: both cabs are SOLD. I have already received payment for one of the cabs (thanks Lomo!) I am expecting to receive payment for the other cab this Friday (local cash sale to a TB'er that lives about a mile from me). If, for whatever reason, that latter deal falls through, I will update this post and put the second cab back up for sale. If that latter deal happens this Friday as planned, I will then close this thread.***

***UPDATE as of Friday Sept 9: both cabs are sold for sure. Closing the thread now.

***************

I do this alot. I order brand new stuff, put it in my non-smoking home just to "have it", and then I turn around and sell it maybe six months to a year later. My wife just shakes her head (hey, there are worse hobbies to have, right?) Anyway, about six months ago, I received, per my order, a pair of new LDS (Low Down Sound) 15/6 cabs from Don at LDS. Here are the specs:

Each cab is loaded with an Eminence Kappalite neo 3015LF woofer and 18sound 6NM410 mid driver padded at -3db, crossed over at 800hz with a Ralf Patterson crossover, with L-pad attenuator (for the mid driver) on the back of the cab. No tweeter.
The baffles are mirror image so that when the cabs are stacked on their sides, the mid-drivers will be near each other (i.e., one cab has the mid-driver on the left, and the other cab has the mid-driver on the right).
Two 4-pole Speakon jacks in the back panel, wired in parallel with each other, wired +1, -1.
Mojotone "Rough Black" tolex (item #7312002).
Mojotone "Black Matrix" grill cloth (item #6302010).
Ports shall not be covered with grill cloth.
LDS badge in the upper left corner for the cab that has the mid driver in the upper right. LDS badge in the upper right corner for the cab that has the mid driver in the upper left.
Black baffle. Fixed bar handle on each side of cab. Black plastic stackable corners. No casters.
Each cab is 8 ohms.
Each cab weighs 52 pounds.
Each cab is 30" high, 20" wide, and 16" deep. (These are the "tall" version nEarful cabs that Don makes.)
These two cabs are absolutely identical, except for mirror image baffles.

These cabs have not been broken in yet. I have played through these cabs only three times in my room for about a half-hour each time. The tone is the best I have ever heard from bass cabs. They really are everything that Talkbassers rave about. No joke. It's the real deal. These cabs put out bass that you not only hear but feel! Both of these cabs are in total mint brand new condition. The cabs have never left my room since I bought them. That's right...never gigged....never used for a band practice either. I was planning on using these cabs when my band project got off the ground, but it never did. If you are looking for the ultimate (IMO) bass cabs, then you just found them! I question my sanity in selling these top-of-the-line bass cabs, but I need to pay some bills, so I am putting them up for sale, along with some other bass gear that I have. I am asking $550 shipped CONUS for each cab. Yes I will sell separately if you only want one cab. Each cab weighs 52 pounds. I will ship the cabs in the same boxes that Don used to ship them to me as I still have those boxes and the original packaging that Don used. I have over 80 feedbacks on the bay, all 100% positive. I am located in the Sacramento area of California. I accept Paypal. No trades as I need the cash to pay some bills.

(Please note that the US made Ampeg SVT is not part of this ad. I am selling that in a separate ad.)

You sir, are almost as crazy as me. I had remorse the instant I sold my LDS 15/6 and I want one of yours. PMed you and am ready to Paypal.

I've been looking at this design, and I Luv LDS stuff. At 8 ohms my Walkabout head gives about 150W, does this cab need more to do it's thing?

not likely

The design is like a PA so you can play quiet and it reproduces beautifully. Or you can pump 500 watts through one.

FYI IME those dedicated mid drivers go pretty high-MUCH higher than a tradition bass cab woofer and plenty for most (but not all) bassists.
