For sale: a near-mint MarkBass TA501 bass amp. This amp's part of the "first wave" of two-rackspaces-tall MarkBass amps into the US, before the current micro-sized LMs and Fs, etc. took over the line.
It's basically an SA450 (4-band EQ including sweepable low & high mids, VPF/VLE filters, variable line out, tuner out, effects loop, studio-quality XLR out, pre/post EQ switch, etc.) with two added features: footswitchable mute (if you have a footswitch; I don't, and the switch was optional new) and a sweet, linear, yummy built-in tube compressor with an old-school VU-style needle gauge. The latter feature not only works well as a mild comp, but it makes the amp sound slightly warmer than most other MarkBass amps.
Power: 500W into 4, 300W into 8; this all-aluminum puppy weighs just 7.5 lbs. Amp includes rack ears. Everything's functional; it's been gigged some, but it's always been in the rack, and the amp's never been pushed near clipping. The small black lines on the amp face's dials are merely small bits of duct tape used to remember settings; those will be removed before shipping.
I love the head -- I've been running it for more than two years now -- but I had a Genz-Benz GBE 600 before it and miss the G-B's fundamental tone ... so I've just purchased a brand new ShuttleMAX 9.2.
