up for sale is my Morgan MP200 bass amp with its road case. So I picked this up a while back. when I first got it it was cream colored and had been "slightly modded". I contacted Joe Morgan with pics and discovered the mod was rather extensive. So I shipped it to Joe to be returned to stock as nature intended. While it was there I had new preamp tubes installed and had it retolexed in elephant black. It also got a new logo plate and front plate as Joe added the new bass boost and bright switches. It has a defeatable master volume that when disengaged allows the gain to work as a master or you can crank the gain and turn the volume switch on and play overdriven at lower volumes. The amp plays so much better with passive basses than with my active Stingray which is my daily driver, and Ive sold off my Jazz. It plays fine with active basses, but it has more headroom and a smoother/creamier breakup with passive basses as you would expect. I find the "bass boost" switch to be odd. I cant tell exactly how it works. It seems to me that when engaged it boosts the ultra lows, and cuts the mid bass a little, but since I dial the bass knob back a little on this amp it seems like it makes the mids more prominent to me... or, maybe its wired backwards!! lol. Im not sure which, the switch definitely works and creates two different tones, but I dont know if its giving me extra ultra lows and less of the "usable lows" or if "on" is actually "off". doesnt really matter, both are good tones that can be sculpted as you like... just thought I should point it out as it seems weird to me.
