FS (mostly) - A-Designs Reddi & Trace Elliot V-Type Pre

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey TB Brothers & Sisters

Well, I wanted to try out an A-Designs Reddi and I did. Although I do like the change it gave to my basic signal, I'm not recording, nor am I playing live; shoot man, I'm not even in a band right now! So do I really need a DI of this quality?? Probably not. So it’s yours if you want it. This one has both the balanced XLR and a 1/4" through-jack. It's in excellent condition and I only want to get out of it (minus fees/shipping) what I put in.
$625 is what I paid and $625 shipped&insured is what you pay. ConUSA only. SOLD!

Then there's the Trace Elliot V-type pre. Recently, I loaded it with two new JJ/Tesla ECC803S Hi-Performance 12AX7 tubes and I've played it only 2-3 hours since. Certainly you've heard a lot of good things about this preamps sound. IT's fat. It's punchy. It's versatile; it’s akin to the Alembic F1-X. Why am I selling it? Simply put, I want something else. Were I in a roots (or similar) band, you couldn't rip it out of my hands; but I'm not, so... The front/rear panels are clean but for around the rack screw holes. I'll only put this as high as VG though, because the top and bottom both have their share of scratches. Also, the bass knob can be pulled off (though will not fall off) it's shaft and I'm unsure how it's supposed to tighten on.
$325 shipped&insured to ConUSA only. Paypal e-chekc is much preferred.

I now have pics!! Send me an eMail (BrettsBass@comcast.net) and I'll show you what I've got. Please be assured though, both units are as described and function perfectly.

Like most, cash is king. However, go ahead and view my g.a.s. list for trades and we’ll see what happens. Thanks.

does your reddi have the "thru"jack, or is it an older model?

Hey Brett - what is the feature set on that pre... Is it akin to an F1X in that has interactive tone stack, voiceing switches, crossover DI, etc ...

Some of that, yeah. The V-type has a balanced DI out--reputed to be a good one at that--and an interactive EQ with the following: *Deep Switch *Bass *Mid with pull shift function *Treble *Bright Switch.

This is some of what the manual has to say about the EQ.
Three tone controls are provided, these being Bass, Middle and Treble. All are entirely passive and have been tailored to suit the frequencies developed by the bass guitar. Being passive controls means that they are interactive, with the treble control having a strong effect on the mid control. The tone control range has been designed so that a “12 o’clock” setting on all controls gives a basic good sound from which to start. This gives a slight mid cut at about 1 KHz and a bass and treble boost.

The middle control incorporates a Pull-Shift function which shifts the center frequency at which the mid control works at upwards to around 2 KHz.

Deep and Bright Switches – The Deep switch, located next to the bass control, cuts down the midrange and treble frequencies to create a “deeper” tone with more bass emphasis.

The Bright switch, located next to the Treble control, switches in a high pass filter which accentuates the high frequency response. This is disabled at maximum gain due to the nature of the circuit.

There is no Xover though.
