Up for sale is a used Yamaha PB-1 bass preamp. I bought this unit used about a year ago when my old combo amp went out on me. Last month I finally got an Aguilar DB 750, so I no longer need this preamp.
I got this unit used off of eBay and it’s probably about 25 years old. The ruggedness of the PB-1 is legendary and I haven’t had a single problem with it since I’ve owned it. If you’ve never seen one of these before, it’s a one-space solid-state bass preamp with a FULLY parametric EQ section (great for adding some punch or dialing back some woofiness), bi-amp capabilities, and an XLR out with a level control for running it through a house system. It is a little heavy, but it’s essentially bulletproof. A trade off, I suppose. The EQ section also makes this a great recording preamp.
