SOLD! Mesa Boogie 400+

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD! Mesa Boogie 400+ in excellent working condition. Light cosmetic flaws.

I bought this unit about 2 years ago off of Talkbass, but have used it very little since. I had to replace one set of tubes with Sovtek 6L6WXT+ due to the set going microphonic. The rest of the tubes still seem to have plenty of life in them. I was told by directly by Mesa, that the Mesa STR 430’s are just rebranded Sovtek 6L6WXT+. I also have three brand new Tung-Sol 12AX7's in the preamp, with a brand new JJ ECC82/12AU7 in the driver. This is commonly referred to as Psycho’s mod. He explained the technical theory in the thread: I have joined the Dark Side (well not really).

The benefits are noticeable with more punch and the tone controls and pull knob options are way more responsive. Others have also commented that the D.I is more useable.

This particular head was built in November of 2002. Since my purchase, it has been housed in this Pro Touring Gator G-TOUR 4UW case, with wheels and pop-up handle. The case is also in great condition as you can see.
Asking $1350 shipped to lower 48 only. Absolutely no trades. I will politely ignore all trade offers and requests to ship overseas.

Thanks for looking!
