SOLD
Ok, so I never thought I would sell this. ever. but.... Im beginning a big gear purge I think and Ive decided that there are alot of nice things Ive had the pleasure and blessing to enjoy for a while, but I dont have to keep it all to myself.
so, up for your consideration is my Orange AD200B that was rebuilt into a handwired turret board version by the folks at Electric Amps USA. This is the amp that has been featured on Planetoftheamps.com.
It can be seen it a pictorial tour here:
http://www.planetoftheamps.com/orang...3-bassamp.html
Its built to be the "same circuit" as the stock AD200B but in a handwired model. I have been able to A/B it with a stock model and its pretty dead on tone wise, but with a bit more clean headroom and a nicer overdrive to my ears. In interests of full disclosure I feel this amp shines the best with passive basses, as I feel the stock AD200B does too. I like the break up from a not as 'hot' passive signal better.
It is tubed with 4 Winged C KT88s, 2 NOS Sylvania 12AX7s and 1 Jan Phillips.
The extra good news is that it is in BETTER shape than when I got it! If you look closely at the pics in the P.O.T.A link you will notice that the tolex has a number of noticeable dings that show up white, also the handle is worn thru. I have rehoused it in a new headcase and replaced the handle. I have unfortunately made 2 very very small nics in the covering since I rehoused it that are pictured. I have also gotten a fitting XCASE roadcase for it. As those who know me will attest, I like to keep my gear NICE!! It will come with the roadcase and the power cord.
btw, if you have any questions as to the authenticity of this amp as the one in the link, I have added the serial # pic which can also be seen listed on the P.O.T.A.'s page beneath the first picture.... I think when i first got this and opened it up that it is in fact written and signed inside if I recall correctly.
would REALLY prefer not to ship this. I have always been very good with my shipping, BUT shipping a one of a kind amp makes me really nervous because the gorillas at Fedex and UPS might find it a challenge. If you do convince me to ship this, I will remove and bubble wrap each tube and number it as to its position and place them back inside the head. I will box up the amp and the roadcase, and probably put that box in an additional box with packing material for extra super safety!!
$2350
btw.. im located in WV between MD and VA, about an hour and a half from Baltimore and DC.
