How is this amp for bed room practice? I'm looking for a back up amp to my 400+ and love the BT500 but don't know how one of these sounds at lower volumes.

It sounds fantastic at lower volumes. Because of the gain and master volume controls, you can go from clean to full face melt without waking the neighbors!

Is the DI on this pre or post eq?

My understanding is that the point of the signal path that the DI is picked off is after the gain and EQ controls and before the effects loop and master volume control.
