FS: Peavey AlphaBass High Energy Bass Amplifier, 6x6L6 Tube Amp!

SOLD!

Selling my AlphaBass. I don't need 3 all-tube heads, so this one is on the block.

Tube Complement:

6 x 6L6GC power tubes
3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes
1 x 12AT7 preamp tube

It puts out 160W into a 4 ohm or 2 ohm load. This is very much like the Mesa D180, so it's great for rock, country, etc. If you're looking for loud and clean, this isn't your amp. It'll do loud, but it's crunchy. If you're playing in a quiet band, it's plenty clean.

I played this amp as part of a multi-amp setup in a metal band and it did a great job as the distorted half of a clean / dirty pair. It's a great amp and light for a tube rig, about 40 lbs.

Download the manual here

This amp has just been serviced and has a fresh set of Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH, plus all new preamp tubes. Everything works but the line-out level pot is snapped off. The line-out level is most of the way up, and I've used it to slave to other amps with no problems.

Asking $300 shipped, which is less than I have into it with the new tubes. I have a Gator 4-space rack available separately.

Imagine my dismay

These little gems seem to always come up when I'm in no position to do anything but drool. I had one and it absolutely compares nicely w/the D-180. Someone please buy this soon.
