FS Phil Jones Briefcase amp.

For Sale, Phil Jones Briefcase amp. I bought this used but in good condition. It sounds very good and it’s very solidly built. It handles the B string surprisingly well. Sounds great with my Fender Precision Deluxe 5 string as it does with my Brice Douglas 5 string fretless Jazz. Phil Jones builds quality stuff! I really didn’t use it much as I found something that better suit my needs. This is a great combo if you’re a play both acoustic and electric.

I’m asking PRICE DROP! 380 Shipped!

I'm not taking trades right now.

I'm interested.

Can you run a preamp directly into that without a problem? I use a Fishman Pro Plat for Bass (upright bass). Just curious.

Also - can you gig with something like this in small joints with a drummer? I've seen varying opinions.

And one last thing - do you have all the original paper work/accessories that come with?

To be honest with you I have never tried it with an upright, but from what I can tell it supposed to work really well. I did try it with an MXR M-80 preamp pedal with good results.

As for question #2 it really depends on the type of music and your tonal preferences. If you're playing in a small jazz group with disciplined drummer it's defiantly possible. If your doing rock or metal I would not recommend this amp. IMO this amp is really more about tone than volume.

#3 as I said before I got this amp used and did not come with the paper work or accessories. Hence, why I'm selling it a little cheaper than what they have been going for.

Sounds like maybe it's a little bit too small for my needs. Thanks for the honest and prompt response though. Good luck.
