This is a fantastic practice/recording amp. It runs on 6 AA batteries and also comes with an AC adapter. I couldn't believe how long I could play through it just using batteries!
It has a built in drum machine with a wide variety of settings and a very useful "tap tempo" function. The drum machine has its own volume control. In addition, there are both a 1/8 (stereo!) and 1/4 inch aux inputs so you can play along with your CD or MP3 player, or you can have someone else plug their guitar in!
It can be used as a vocal PA (has a "mic" setting, just use an XLR adapter), an acoustic guitar amp, or even an electric guitar amp due to its great effects -- delay, chorus, flanger, and reverb. I've used this for a great electric guitar sound by using the "mic" setting, cranking up the gain for distortion, and boosting the mids.
You will be able to just grab this ultralight amp and practice anywhere, whether or not there's a power outlet nearby. Use the line out with a direct box to feed the tone straight into the PA to perform in any venue. Or use the line out for headphones for silent practice anytime.
I really love this amp and I hate to sell it, but I need to pay off my new GK neo 212-II. Don't be surprised if you see me in a few months posting a "want to buy" ad for this amp once I can afford it!
