I just bought a Schroeder 1210 (700 watts 4 ohms) "airhead" bass cabinet online at Talkbass.com. This cab was custom made by Jorg Schroeder in 2009. If you're not familiar with Schroeder cabs, check out www.schroedercabinets.c om.
This cabinet has one 12-inch speaker and one 10-inch speaker. One of the speakers is angled so that you cannot see it, but since bass is omni-directional, the angled speaker does not change the sound. It's a SWEET cab, very small and compact. Under 45 lbs I'm thinking (don't know exactly weight but between 40-45.)
This cab sounds amazing! I used it at band practice last night and it sounds full, warm, and punchy! I've heard people complain about some Schroeders being "too midrangey" but that's certainly not the case with this one. It sounds big, can get plenty of bass, but still has enough punch to cut through any mix.
The only thing I am not wild about is the orange color. My guitar player loved it but I'd prefer traditional black. I think the orange paint was a factory job but it's a bit sloppy in parts (though you have to be up close to tell). Minor wear and tear but the cabinet is solid. Grill in great shape, no rattle, sounds amazing. Has handles and casters. Three space rack built in to house your amp - very cool! There's a velcro attachment to a piece of wood that can be used as sort of a gate for storing cables. Kinda ugly but a nice functional touch
I would keep it, but I know someone selling an 850-watt version of the same cab in black. I'd prefer black to orange and would rather have an 850 watt version to better match the 900-watt power rating of my Genz Benz Streamliner 900.
My price is the same price as the listing where I bought it.
$475 + shipping (lower 48). I'll lose a bit of money on shipping but oh well.
I may decide to keep it so if you want it, PM or
e-mail me quickly.
