This sounds killer and I am sad to have to let it go, but my current employment status calls for some changes. I have been using it on the input of my Markbass Little Mark II(also for sale
) and it is super!
If you are not familiar with the TD-100, it's a combination DI and preamp. It has two parallel balanced outputs, one at "mic level" to send to FOH and the other at line level to drive a power amp or feed any line-level rack gear. It contains two separate preamp circuits, solid state and tube. The solid state one is on all the time, and the Gain knob on the front dials in more of the tube stage on top of the ss stage. So the Gain knob acts more like a "tube coloration" knob rather than a plain volume control. It doesn't provide OD/dirt though, just warmth and fatness. The other knob controls the input impedance, which acts like a type of tone knob when you've got a passive bass plugged straight in. You get more of a vintage soft dark sound with the knob to the left and more of a modern crisp sound with the knob to the right. The TD100 is also a superior-quality headphone amp!
This unit is in like new condition and it comes with the original box, manual, and power cord. It also
