Selling my sunn rig. Its a 1970 Sunn 2000S with the original matching 2x15 cab. Couldnt get an exact date on the speakers, but they are the JBL D140F models, the classic woodstock speakers. This is one of the cleanest and most complete sunn rigs ive ever come across. Each of them even comes with the original black leather covers with white trim (never seen these before either). Im also including a road case for the sunn head that cost me 200 bucks, made by X-cases (awesome affordable road cases).
the head has never been touched. every single piece inside is original. original caps, original tubes (RCAs), original everything. i had the power cord changed to a 3 pronger but i still have the original 2 prong power cord which ill include. ive never had an issue with it, i like to keep the hours on the tubes/caps low so i dont practice with it, ive only used it at shows. it is the tube rectified version as well, cant remember which tubes it has but they are whatever came stock with it. theres also what looks like a quality control sticker inside the chasis, dating it to 1970. i will post more pictures tonight of the head with close ups of everything, and the leather case/road case. no tolex rips, and if there is some, theyre so small i never really noticed, but im going to look tonight and post any pics if there is any.
cab has never been touched either. im assuming im the first person to ever take the back off, both speakers are original, all the original foam and wiring is in there. no real tolex rips to this guy either, there are some scuff/drag marks on the bottom, but no rips. however, it is missing one of the rubber knobs on the side/bottom, the screw is still there. the grill has a little faded color on the bottom, you can see in the pic. ill get more pics of this guy up tonight as well.
small background on the set, i got this from a local shop, the guy who sold it to them was the original owner, story is he bought it new back in the day and just kept it in his basement, never doing anything with it aside from studio work (if he even did that). finally decided after 40 years it was just taking up space in his house haha!
any questions please let me know. im no amp guru so im not gonna feel comfortable removing the chasis from the case, if thats a make or break for a deal i can have a more saavy amp friend do that with me if there is something specific inside that you want to see. i had my amp tech take a look at it when i got it and he informed me everything was original, and he didnt change anything aside from the power cord.
Im looking for $1400 obo for the head with road case, and $1000 obo for the cab. id do the pair for $2100 if you want them both. id rather not ship this thing at the moment, but i have no problem meeting someone somewhere as long as its not too far (im in the DC area, id drive as far north as NY and as far south as NC). thanks duders!
