FS: SWR 4x12 800 watt Tolex cabinet

Sign in to disble this ad
Just picked up this cab off of the forum but I need to make some room for my dream rig.

My 4x12 SWR up for sale. It includes a really nice SWR factory cover. The cab is 8 ohms, 800 watts. Speakon and 1/4 connectors, high quality baltic birch construction, sexy chrome grill, and black tolex. Cab is in great great shape and has removable casters.

$320 plus shipping. I am near 6 flags in MD for a local sale

The cab has two stock, and two Eminence Beta's, which have a bit more Xmax, so they handle more power before they start compressing while the stock speakers add nice grind and top end.

Original Thread where I purchased the Cabinet with a YOUTUBE clip:
FS only: (2) SWR 12-stack 4x12's!!! Rare! (MD, PA, DE)

Ported or sealed? And I'm local, anytime you'd prefer to sell it/can I come see it?

These are ported. Here is the information and the link from the SWR product page:

http://www.swramps.com/support/vintage.php

The "Rock Box" cabinets (12-Stack & 12-Pack) were designed for use in high-volume, rock n' roll applications. These two cabinets were the first SWR-designed cabinets without a tweeter of any kind since the Big Ben (1X18), in 1990. They also featured textile vinyl covering, rather than the carpet we normally use. (Oxblood in 2002, Black from 2003 to 2006)

Power Handling: 800 watts RMS
Impedance: 8 ohms
Speaker complement: (4) Custom designed SWR 12" drivers
Dimensions: 26.5"W x 30.5"H x 16.5"D

Bump for a killer cab that I would've kept. Doctor Bass made a house call and I'm unofficially a patient.

+1 on both accounts.

I sold him this cab and it rocks! Marley's Ghost has bought the other one and he is quite pleased as well. I would have kept them but I really needed the space. These are high quality, badass old-school rock cabs!

Thanks for the bump dude. The cab does rock.

I have a local deal in the works and I'm just awaiting payment. So this baby is on hold till further notice.

Hi JGR, I'm glad you posted. I'm buying the cab from datasaxguy, and I'm curious to find out the history behind the addition of the 2 Eminence Beta drivers in place of 2 of the original SWR drivers. Did the SWR's fail, or was this just a tonal upgrade?
