FS: SWR Workingman's 4004

Sign in to disble this ad
Relisting my SWR Workingman's 4004 for sale only. Put a deposit down on an Ampeg and need to move this. SWR is in excellent condition. I believe I'm the third owner. Previous owner used in a studio, it's just been in my house since I picked it up a few months back.

400w head that can meet most needs. No issues. The amp is powerful, clean, and versatile. Even has a headphone jack for home practice.

This is my backup amp and have been looking for an Ampeg for a while and found one. Looking for $200 shipped (little more to MT and PAC timezones).

SWR Features:
400 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms/260 Watts RMS @ 8 Ohms
Steel Chassis enclosed in carpeted rack
Stack Lock Corners and strap handle
Single Open Rack Space for effects unit of your choice
Discrete solid-state front end
Balanced XLR Output
Stereo Headphone Jack
Tuner Out
Hi and low sensitivity 1/4 in. inputs
Gain control with LED peak clipping indicator
Aural Enhancer Control
5-band EQ section.

Would you be willing to go lower for a pickup? Is this just the head you are selling, or is the cab included?

I owned a 4004 for a few years, and only traded it when I was dealing off most of my bass gear to get a guitar rig when I changed bands. Back then I thought it was a great value at 275 -- plenty of power, I have always liked the tone of SWR stuff, and I really like how SWR stuff is very straight-forward with simple controls -- easy to plug in and rock. 200 shipped is a ridiculous price...if I was in the market, I'd snag this in a heartbeat.

I couldn't agree more except that I prefer a slightly warmer tone and the size of my markbass.
