FS/T: Carvin BX1200

Hey Y'all,

I sold this, along with pile of other gear, to a friend. He doesn't play bass and is just using it as a power amp. He'd rather have another power amp so I told him I would try to sell it or trade it.

I bought the BX1200 new from Carvin and it's in great shape. It has a carpeted rack and the vinyl cover.

Personally I love the tone and the BX1200 power section gives great flexibility. I used it to drive one or two Carvin LS1503 cabs with Eminence 3015LFs in them (he's got them now for PA use). The only reason I sold it is that I wanted a lighter amp and ended up with a Carvin BX500 (very similar tone but less wattage in a lighter package). I'm tempted to buy a power amp and keep the BX1200 for myself but I just bought a Shuttlemax 12.0 so I can't justify it.

$425 plus shipping or work a trade for a power amp

My friend isn't looking to put any cash in (not even for shipping) so he's looking for something like a Carvin DCM1000 or similar in trade. Something that he'd end up with a power amp and a few bucks in return for the BX1200.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow

I have a line on a used Carvin DCM1000 for my friend so I'll do $450 shipped (shipping will be more than $25) via paypal while the DCM1K I found is available.

I still need to take some pics of it (picture a mint condition BX1200 in a carpeted case/rack with a vinyl cover that says "Carvin" on it )

A deal for a Carvin DCM1000/1500/2000 would work really well as well

Are you looking for Carvin poweramps only?

Nope, I'm open to any of the big names (QSC, Crest, Crown, etc.) but will probably pass on those I'm not a big fan of (Behringer, Phonic, etc.). Run whatever you are thinking by me, the worst I can do is say "No thanks".

It is a great amp - it really drove my 3-way Carvin LS1503s with 3015LFs nicely. The 800W @ 8 Ohms and 1200 @ 4 Ohms bridged was just the ticket for those cabs. If I hadn't sprung for the ShuttleMax I would so be tempted to buy my friend a power amp and keep this for myself again.

I've talked deal parameters with several folks and but we've not said "this is it, let's do it" for any of them so it's still available (and for any of those folks just say the word and it's a done deal).

I still need to get some pics.

finally here is a pic of the amp. My friend said he wanted 2000W per channel, weight is not an issue (he was joking ). I'm not sure he understands what the speakers he has will actually withstand or he's a master of hyperbole.

Your friend is going to have a hard time finding an amp with that power in good condition and not doing a straight trade let alone wanting cash plus shipping. Good luck with the sale.....

Umm, he did say it (jokingly) and I included it for humor purposes (I'll go back and put in a smiley) - but it does show he doesn't care about weight. And he isn't going to be putting in any more cash which does limit what I can do for a trade. A straight sale and giving him the cash to buy a power amp himself is an option I wholeheartedly support (it makes life easier for me). I've agreed to the parameters of several deals but never gotten the final go ahead from anyone so it's still out here. Eventually I'll just give it back to him and tell him I can't sell/trade it for him.
