FS/T: Stewart, Sansamp, Acme stack

Sign in to disble this ad

This stack has served me well, but I think it's time to devolve back to something simpler. A few people asked if I'd be willing to sell just parts of the head, so I figured I'd price it all out. If you want 2 or 3 of the parts, I'll knock a few bucks off. I'm no longer selling the rack case though.

Sansamp RPM preamp - $225 shipped conUS - SOLD
Ashly 6-band parametric EQ - $75 shipped conUS
Stewart World 2.1 solid state power amp - $325 shipped conUS - SOLD

Very flexible, wide range of clean and overdriven tones, and up to 1,800 watts at 2 ohms. The EQ was really handy when I played loud slap upright through this, and also provides a nice balance to the Sansamp's active EQ when you're overdriving it. The Stewart will put 700 watts into each Acme, which is more than enough to make up for their inefficiency. The whole thing is deceptively light.

The cabs - $325 shipped conUS
Acme B2, series 2 (with speakon jacks) - 4 ohms, 350 watts THIS ONE IS SOLD
Acme B2, series 1 (with 1/4" jacks) - 4 ohms, 350 watts
Both have a few cosmetic scuffs, but play fine. The Series 2 is the all black one, if you're not familiar with these cabs. They're functionally the same aside from the jacks and the extra tuff metal on the older one (that's still for sale). Both have two 10s, one 5, one horn, and are deeper and cleaner than any other cabs I've played.

Trades?
I'm looking for a 100+ watt tube head. Would consider taking or throwing in cash to balance it all out.

Sweet rig. Mine's almost identical, except I usually put the series 1 on top of the series 2 for no good reason. With the 1 on the bottom and the aluminum trimmed rack on top, though, you've got a nice shiny sandwich goin'.

Very loud, massive lows, crazy portability and modularity. Free someone's-going-to-be-happy bump!

I also have a near twin to this setup and the Stewart is a great match for powering these cabs. Someone will be happy. Those older B2's are just as good as the newer ones IMO.

I'm hoping to sell the head as a unit, but I'll definitely let you know if that changes!

From someone with almost the same pre/power set up (RBI/no ashley) this really is a great deal for a flexible amp with power to spare!

By request, I've tried to get some better pictures of the head. Natural light isn't great, so there's some flash that really accentuates the shiny lettering Stewart logo.

I also have a .pdf of the Stewart manual which I'd be glad to email to anyone interested.

Stumbled onto a Joe's 1x15 on the way back from the UPS store, so I'd be especially interested in trading for a second, matching one if anyone's holding out.

And the Series 2 cab is shipped, details by PM as soon as I have them.

Thanks

Thanks for being fast on the transaction. I have a matching Acme series 2 (4 ohm) and have been itching to take advantage of my EDEN powered navigator that contains 2 power amps at the 500@4ohm. Each speaker cab can have it's own.

The big question is whether to stack it vertical (mono tower style) or a horizontal stack. Anyone have experience at that?

Dropping price, splitting up the head

Haha, good question. I stack them like in the picture because I intuitively "feel" them as a 4x10 sliced in half. But one time I let another band use our gear, and when I came back from grabbing a drink they'd put them in Tower Configuration (tm) which was kind of cool because it gets one horn and tweeter a lot closer to head level. It sounded great, in any case!

Furthermore, emphatic BUMP because I dropped some prices and priced the rack head by component. Everyone who asked about buying just one part of the head: PMs incoming.

Bump for great gear.
My "rack rig" is very similar with the RBI, dbx166xL, QSC 2402. Andy said "Be careful with 700 watts available" so the dbx. I run a Line 6 BPXTLive into mine.

Stacking?
With 2 cabinets, I run them vertical. With 4 I run them vertical.

Bump because I found a second 1x15 cab, so I'd just be looking for a head in trade at this point.

Everything is now up on Boston Craigslist, but anything not marked off is still available!

Trade-wise, I'd be very interested in cutting a deal that involved...
a Mesa d-180 head
a Mesa Coliseum head
a Black Arts Pharaoh fuzz pedal

Bump before heading out of town for a few days. Stewart amp has been shipped, and my want list has narrowed to:

Mesa D-180
Mesa Coliseum

I'd obviously throw in cash to even out either of those trades!
