This is a nice little amp - one of the first of the lightweight ones. It's about 11 lbs and puts out 250W @ 4 Ohms and 500W @ 2 Ohms. It has "digital eq" on the front end that lets you emulate different amp types (tube-ish, SVT-ish, distorted, etc.) and have your 5 favorite configurations as presets. The mfr info is at:

http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/...25253D,00.html

I like the SVT-ish/overdriven sounds but only have it as a backup these days.

$275 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK

possible trades:

G&L JB-2 (US, 1.5" nut width, 9lbs or less)
NSDesign Wav 4

I am very impressed with mine and would consider this rig for affordable bi-amping if I were into it (since you need two heads to do that)

I am impressed most with the parametric EQ and the tweakable compressor/gate features.

Though a great feature, I'm not a fan of parallel effects loops now because of this amp.

I like the 'Classic' (SVT), 'Modern' (SWR), 'Heavy' (Mesa), and 'R&B' (big fat, clean, dark...what is that?) settings the most. Works suprisingly well for acoustic instruments (flat setting).

Until TC Electronic came out with their 'Rebel Head', there was nothing on the market that could touch the functionality of this amp. It took what...5 years?

Definitely worth $275 shipped, folks.

Having tons of fun with mine. I've used mine as headphone amp on the road cause it's light and compact.

Free bump!

Love mine as well !! I've owned more than a couple of these amps, and let me tell ya , I'm in heaven every time I plug in. The BBT-500 is a must have in my opinion.

Do you have the coils for the output speakers still.

I'll check. It came to me (used) in the original box with rack ears and docs and I think it had the cable clamps but won't be sure until I check. I've never used them with any of the BBTs I've had and never had any noise problems but will post back tonight with whether they are in the box or not.

Yes, it has the 3 cable clamps, the rack ears (the handles are on it) and the manual in the original shipping box.
