I recently purchased this to compare it to my GB Shuttle 9.0. Both are professional level amps. The Shuttle has more of a hi fi tone where the Classis450 is more old school, dow low. After comparing them, I am more in the Shuttle camp so the Classic450 is up for sale.

The Classic450 is similar to the RH450 but without all the bells and whistles. Initially I was going to try the RH450 with it's variable eq centers but after reading online, I found most people liked the default eq centers of the RH450. Which is what the Classic450 has.

From TCE:

Pure tone meets sheer power
Classic450 offers you easy access to a wide range of classic tones, all via the versatile
vintage tone control section. This is backed
with our Tubetone™ and multiband SpectraComp™ technology. TubeTone™ emulates every characteristic of a tube pre-amp and power-amp to deliver the full tube sound. SpectraComp™ virtually allows ‘per string’ compression that evens out the compression across all strings, delivering the quality, punchy sound that compressors are all about.

Classic450 delivers 450W output power via Class D amplifier technology in combination with our Active Power Management™. This ensures maximum power impact and that Classic450 behaves like a tube amp at full blast.

Classic450’s input section caters for both active and passive basses, while its fully transformer-balanced linedriver output, featuring a pre/post tone control switch, delivers a perfect reproduction of Classic450’s tone for both recording and live use, so it’s an ideal amp both on the road and in the studio.

Power: 450 Watt (800+W peak)
Weight: 4 kg / 8.8 pounds
Dimensions: 275 x 290 x 66mm
Balanced ‘DI’ output: Galvanic isolated transformer-balanced (pre/post pre-amp)
Tone controls: Four vintage tone controls
Compression: SpectraComp™ multi-band compression
Drive: TubeTone™ full amp simulation

This amp is in perfect condition. I'm selling it for $400 shipped.

People say the classic450 is nothing like the rh450. Can you please explain, thanks.

From what I understand, the Classic450 sounds exactly like the RH450 if all the eq center frequencies are left at their default.

The big difference with the Classic450 is the lack of features. The default sound of the RH450 sounds just like the Classic450.
