FS: Trace Elliot AH1200 SM

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale is my Trace Elliot AH1200 SM. This amp puts out 1200w @ 2ohms. This baby is a real workhorse and it shows by the condition of the tolex. It has some rips and tears, the worst one being on the upper chassis face.
For those unfamiliar with TE, here is a link to the SM series manual
This amp works great in a rock, country, metal, you name it setting. So the big question, why sell it? I am using my Mesa 400+ and I just have too much gear. Btw, it's heavy (55lbs). SO if you have a bad back... You've been warned. Asking price $550.00+shipping. Feel free to make me an offer via PM. Trades? Sure, let me know. I am open to just about anything, but picky as I am trying to reduce the gear and not add to it. Mesa Hybrid amps are on my list now. I also really need a gig bag that will hold two basses. Thanks and here is a couple of pics.

Love that black light

Hey man, how much does this bad boy weigh? I can't find it in the manual which seems to relate only to the preamp.

Ze dog is a Jack/Cairn Terror. You wouldn't want her. She pees at the drop of a hat.

Huh. Are you the original owner? I had one of these a couple of years ago - pretty sweet heads all in all! That looks like my old one, but, it was years ago and the memory may be fuzzy .
Pretty rare bird too, not much info out there on these. Decent SS amp over all .

Nope, this is actually my second one. My first one went to Texas. This one I bought from a guy in Mass. (I think) and it has a sticker from a store in Wisconsin. It has been around the block.
Yes they are pretty rare, unless you are Mr. Bowlus which I'm pretty sure he owns one of everything when it comes to amp stuff.

Me too, If I had any money at all it would be for this thing. I would need a truck load of cabinets to run it through though. 2400 watts peak would sizzle fry my little 1518c.

Just an fyi, 1200rms /2400 peak would be at a 2ohm load. I have ran 2 cabinets at a 4ohm load and never had an issue. Of course one does need to temper their enthusiasm when adjusting the volume.
