I'm getting too old to lug a 56 lb. bass amp anymore. Even though it's the best bass amp I've ever owned. Actually, it's the best bass amp I've ever heard, but that's another discussion. So here's the deal:
I thought about selling it for $1,500 with new tubes. But then I thought, why ship new tubes that could break? Why guess what KT88s an owner might want?
These ol' Ruby's still work great, but a new owner will probably want to get a new sextet. So I am lowering the price and "crediting" the person $250.
So I'm asking $1,250 plus shipping/packing. U.S. only.
As far as the tweed goes, this amp used to be green rat fur and it just looked, well, ratty. This is real Fender tweed that I also varnished. To add a little spice, I laminated a very, very nice piece of flame redwood to the front face board. Prolly about 8 coats of varnish and it still shows grain!
Anyway, it looks pretty good on a stage, and you'll get lotsa comments and questions. I would call this amp's condition: "Excellent." I'm the original owner and it's never been a road dog. Maybe 6 gigs per year for 9 years. There was a Trace Elliot circuit mod that was covered under warranty about 8 years ago. Other than that and the "new look" it's stock.
Feel free to ask questions. I've got more pix, too. While I'm not new to TalkBass, this is my first Classified, so bear with me. Thanks!
