I’m selling my Traynor YBA-3 Custom Special, which appears to be from 1973. I bought it from eBay in August for $840 and had Aztec Electronics in Watertown, MA do about $300 worth of work. (If you don’t know Aztec they are probably the most reputable amp tech in greater Boston). They added Mullard EL34 New Production power tubes, restored the second input where a gain was, and changed the speaker input wiring from series to parallel. I put in three new Tungsol 12AX7 pre-amp tubes. Traynor’s web page says it’s 130 watts at 4 ohms; however, it sounds louder than my old Sunn Coliseum 300, which was 300 watts (solid state) at 2 ohms. In my four-piece garage rock band, I only turn it up to 5 and sometimes that is too loud; no problems since getting it back from Aztec. For EQ it has Presence, Bass, Treble, Bass Expander, and Treble Expander plus treble boost and bass boost. I’m selling it because I need money for dental work, and I don’t really need a large set-up right now. Asking $850 or best reasonable offer. Sold as is. Wizard cab in photo not included. |
