FS Uber rare Mesa/Boogie M-190 power amp!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a Buster Combo so my Tube jones has been quenched. So I'm letting this guy go. This basically the power section of the D-180/400/Buster. I've been told that this is a Deluxe version of the M-180 power amp. It has more input options, additional attenuators and meters than the M-180. It has a noisy fan but it can be turned off otherwise this thing this silent! The tubes are 6 Fender 6L6s and I think there are at least 2 Mesa 12ax7s. I've used several preamps with this power amp (Demeter, Ampeg SVP and the CL) all sound outstanding when compared with a sold state counterpart. I've paired it with both the SVP and the SVP-Cl and talk about a light weight SVT (relatively speaking of course)

I've read that there were only about 100 of these made! So it truly is a rare beast. I will include Heavy Duty six space rack case (but be for warned, because of the rack screw arrangement of the power amp you can only really use 5 of the spaces). I'm asking $400 plus shipping OBO. Let me know dudes!

A few questions fuhya ...

How old are the power tubes and how much "mileage" is on them?
Is the output impedance switchable and if so ... what loads?
Has it ever had the caps checked and/or replaced?
This is a mono amp ... correct?

Also (on a side note) ... I too have an Ampeg SVP Pro preamp which I love ... so much so that I've considered also getting an SVP CL preamp to add to my "preamp stable". Unfortunately, I've never had a chance to audition an SVP CL. How does it differ from the SVP Pro from a sonic perspective? Is the difference enough to warrant having both or is it subtle? Thanks, Steve

The tubes are the same as when I bought them (which was about two and a half years ago) It's only been gigged once the rest of the time it's mainly been used for limited rehearsals and home for my own pleasure .

There are two taps: One pair for labeled 4ohm and the other pair 8ohm.

The caps have not been messed with since I've had it.

And yes this is a Mono amp.

As far as comparing the two SVP preamps: The CL is cleaner maybe a tad bolder, natural, plug and play. The SVP is gritty, is more "colored" (the good kind) and more versatile. You can't go wrong with either one. I did have to pick one at one point and I picked the SVP because I needed the versatility.
