FS Unusual Ampeg "airhead" 1x12 B-1 cab

Sign in to disble this ad
This is the cab portion of the B-1 combo. It has a one rack space built into it. The cab is in good condition for it's age This would be perfect for someone with a one space power amp or a one space amp like the Markbass F1. The original speaker has been replaced with an 8 Ohm Delta Eminence speaker (the original was a 4 Ohm). This cab is heavy duty! It's portable but not light weight. It sounds really good. It has to different power inputs. One regular (gives you the traditional ampeg sound) and the other is contoured (gives you a more modern sound). Comes with castors. This cab is very similar to the ampeg svt-12he. I'm asking $225 shipped!

Dang- if the amp portion was still there I'd be in trouble. Bump for a rare item.

Well I do have the head but I decided to keep it as a preamp.

Well it's yours to do with as you like, but I'd keep the two; it's fairly rare.

For what it's worth to anyone, I've owned the head from these, the B1-R, a couple of different times. Even had a custom Dr. Bass cab made to mimic somewhat the cab for sale here. They're nice amps for practice volumes or for use as a preamp to a beefier power amp. With this cab for sale here, I'd recommend that a buyer find out if one of these fancy new single-space power amps would fit in the space front-to-back. Then he or she could run the rig with different preamps just for the fun and variety of it!

Good luck with the sale!

Also FWIW, I just remembered I spotted a B1R head on MusicGoRound's site in the last couple of days. Just looked again, and it's the Farmington, MI location if anyone's interested.

Thanks for the info stringbass69. You know though when you add another cab into the mix the rig is totally gig worthy. It looks like I may have to add the amp in order for this to sell.

Now that you mention it, I remember I did use my B1R/Dr. Bass combo cab sitting on top of (and running out to, of course) an SWR Big Ben cab. Pretty loud 1x12/1x18 rig.
