FS: Very Used Ampeg SVT810e

Up for sale I have a 'very used' Ampeg SVT810e. I bought the cabinet about two years ago second hand from a company that rented it out to television shows set and things like that. I used it a bunch of times and worked great. This cabinet is made in american and I believe it's a bit older but I'm not totally sure. The amp was in used condition, had it's dings and scratches and the tolex was a little ripped up but it just gave it some character.

Now here comes the sketchy part about this cabinet.

I used this cabinet for a tour with a band that I filled in playing bass for. After the tour I left it at the guitar players house because he had the room for it and I was good friends with him. I left for school and left the cabinet there for a few months, thinking it was in good hands. After I came home a fews months later, I found out that my "friend" had let the bassist of the band use the cabinet without me knowing. When I came to pick up the cabinet, the wheels were bent and barely worked, the tolex was completely missing, and the amp was just overall in much worse condition. I used the cabinet briefly after I had brought it home and everything seemed to still work fine and still be incredibly loud when I played my Orange through it. I believe the cab still works with no problem but honestly, I couldn't say I was 150% sure. It's a crappy thing for someone I thought my friend to do but I guess people change.

As for the cabinet itself, I really have no use for something so big anymore and I'm just seeing if anyone wants it. I'm asking $300obo for it, and obviously I'm not gonna ship this thing. Local pick up only and I'm located in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Heres some pictures:

I know it's in really rough shape, and not too many people are looking to lug around 8x10s but I hope this can find a good home for a good price.

Thanks a lot for looking guys!

you really gotta wonder who would take the hide off a perfectly good fridge, even if he actually owned it.....your ex friend owes you the cost of repair.....and the guy that did the damage owes him....even if the guy he loaned it to had taken care of it,your pal had no bizness loaning it out......

A few years ago I took the "hide" off of mine and took I to get coated by line-x. It was only 100 bucks. Will last half past forever, and I think makes the cab sound better.

YOWZA I'm with the guy talking about Maine.. It's 4 hours for me to go to boston, tank an a half of gas costs..$70 right now.. I'll giva ya 330 for if you meet me there. I could see paying $400 for that cab! And +1 to the Rhino Coating! I did my home made 210 with the aerosol spray liner and it looks and is holding up great, but for that I'd pay the $100 for a pro bed liner coating! Make a custom replacement grille with some crazy paisley fabric and start groovin. And for a little over $500 I'd have a cab that... I hope the drivers are good in... wait now I'm talking myself out of it.

Awesome deal makes me wish I lived in NY!

i'd consider it too,but only after years of use had destroyed the tolex.....the line-x is wonderful stuff,i've heard, but why fix it before it's broke...

Bump this up, i've got some interest but I'm hoping to sell it really quickly.

Thanks for all the advise guys as well. The buddy that did this to this cab is hopeless, trying to get money out of him or have him compensate in anyway would be close to impossible without having to go to some authority. He's just the kid of person that would hide out until his problem went away.

how messed up are the casters? can they be bent back to working order? have you tested it since your original post to see if it still is 100% functional? I'm an hour away and may be interested.

You can get replacement casters from Fliptops.net (or is that .com?) Not expensive.

I have an extra set of axles, if your wheels are still good (I needed to replace my rubber wheels, so I bought the set from Fliptops. New hardware didn't line up with the holes in my 70s cab, so I poached the rubber wheels for my existing hardware.) Mounted axles (hardware unit) is still gathering dust. Message me if you want to buy...

Also, 8x10s rule. More speakers = more better.

Can I buy just the speakers? I could really use them for a cabinet that I'm restoring.
Thanks

I don't have a bass in New York to test it anymore, I just sold my Rickenbacker a few weeks ago. My Stingray is already at my apartment in Chicago so I have no way to test it anymore. I do still have an amp head though so if someone wanted to test it, they could.
