Up for grabs, a super-clean 1200-watt Walter Woods “Ultra”.
I am the original owner of this amp, having bought it directly from Walter himself. I bought it in January of 2001. It has lived it’s entire life in a laptop bag, except for use on gigs. I did not even use it at home. It has been babied, and has no issues whatsoever. I have never had a single instant of trouble with it whatsoever, and is probably the most reliable piece of gear I have ever owned. I was on the waiting list for a year and a half, btw!
This is a two-channel amp. There have been gigs where the guitar players amp blew, so I just plugged him into the second channel. The amp didn’t even notice the difference. I have also used the second channel as a PA monitor. This amp has a LOT of extra power! The really nice thing about it is that even on a super loud gig, the bass still has as much articulation as on a low-power gig. I like to tell people that with the WW amp I can slow the drummer back down :-) In any case, if the drummer sucks, I can at least completely drown him out.
PRICE DROP TO $2200.,
incl. shipping if in the lower 48.

| | | | BTW, looking over my newly posted ad, I see that I don't appear to have a feedback rating here. Probably because I haven't sold anything here! In any case, my eBay handle is:
mark107nyc
If you look me up there, you will see I have a feedback rating of 100% over 174 transactions, since the late 90's. I am in NYC (obviously), so a local pickup (and tryout) is fine as well.

It will be a huge loss to the Bass playing community world wide..Literally
I would have to say he single handedly started the "Micro head" craze 30 years ahead of it's time and to some degree still labors in a bit of obscurity! so so wrong !!! haha

What's the weight on it?
And could it actually be used as a strereo head? Meaning if you could split a stereo ( effects ) signal before it was input into the two channels does it also have two separate outs? It must if you were able to let a guitarist use one of the channels live.
And have you ever messed around with using it in this ( stereo ) capacity?
And how is the power distributed between the two channels? 600 per channel? And can they be combined for a higher overall output?
Sorry if these are stupid questions. I don't know a lot about these types of heads but in theory it all seems incredibly cool. |

They can be bridged for mono but require a specific cable that Walter makes. |

The amp has two channels, but the output is mono. There is a stereo version, but it is only 1000 watts, and I wanted more :-)
I generally play with a 4-10 SWR cabinet. Even on a very loud gig (slamming drummer and blasting guitar amps on stage), it is not a problem at all to not only keep up with all of that, but to also have another guitar player plugged into my system. Usually one would notice a big difference with someone else plugged into your amp, but this system has so much power, it makes not an ounce of difference. Not that I recommend such things, but it's nice to have when an emergency presents itself, such as the unexpected need for another amp on stage.
Also, countless times I have also run the house PA into the second channel, just so I have "monitor" right near me. |

I just bought a GenzBenz Shuttle 9.0 though but I'll surely direct anyone else who might want this your way.
And thanks for the further info about it. |

| | | | ...commentary...like I said before , been playing one of these for years.
With the recent rash of micros on the market, I was trying to figure out what separates WW from all the rest, other than the fact that he was the "original" micro. It kinda hit me that the WW is the only micro Ive heard/used so far that really doesnt behave like a micro. It behaves like a large amp....ie like an Aguilar.
For those of you with G.A.S. and C.A.S.H buy this amp. Walter will not be around forever, and I dont know what he has in mind for a successor.
I'm out. |
