Hey TB Brothers & Sisters
Picked this up back in Oct of ’06 from fellow TB member, DavidMWilson. I still haven’t snagged a power amp and now I’m getting a new axe put together so I need extra funds.
I tested it. I liked the sound. But I need a bass more, so this preamp has got to go.
The following “…” was taken from the previous sales thread. (Archived here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archiv.../t-278958.html)
“Great sounding, very versatile tube preamp.”
(Even through my GK head, it has a very cool sound.)
“As well as having 4 band EQ, there are also low boost, high boost and low/high mid frequency shift buttons. In addition, the four position quadrumatrix
knob let's you change the basic preamp characteristics which is pretty cool. In first two settings, the tubes are bypassed. In 3rd/4th settings, tubes
are in signal path and you can use the optional Crunch to increase the drive.”
(Fat? High-fi? Growly? Smooth? It has it.)
“Unit is in great condition with usual rack scratching (camera flash makes scratches on bottom of unit look worse than they are).”
(This hasn’t changed. I never racked it or took it anywhere. I just sat it near my head to use it’s power section for testing purposes).
$350 shipped! ConUSA only. PayPal preferred.
The manual can be downloaded from http://warwick.de/media/manuals/Quad...ruplet_EN.pdf”
Pics can still be found at: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v5...on/quadruplet/
Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the bump man.

| | | | Is it quiet? Hi, quick question - is the Warwick quiet? I want to play with acoustic musicians at low volume levels, you know how they are when they see a speaker cab - I can't have any hiss or they'll complain. I am returning a BMAX to the store today because of its evil hissing.
Thanks, Kavi |

| | | | And another thing What I'd like, for louder playing, is to keep a warm hi-cut sound from the bass and have a little overdrive come in smoothly when I dig in, nice tube overdrive. The samples on basstesters sound great, but nothing is overdriven.
Ciao, Kavi |

Oh, Man! Sorry it took so long to reply, but here's what I know and don't know.
I don't have a proper power amp, so I used my GK head; this adds noise because of mismatched impedance with the Quadruplet. This, and the fact that I don't have a dead quiet axe adds even more noise into the mix.
I really dig the sound this pre has, and I've certainly heard noisier, but the noise I did here never bothered me. I never used it in studio either, but I just don't know for sure how quiet this one really is.
Now, aside of using Warwick themselves for reference, you can find the following quote (and more) regarding the Warwick Quadruplet preamp here: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/quadruplet/68773
"If you ask any professional bassist what they want in a bass preamp, they will invariably say the same thing: Studio-quiet operation, tonal flexibility, and ease-of-use."
Sorry man. I wish I had a better sales pitch. Thanks.

| | | | Great sales pitch, I think I think your honesty is the best sales pitch going. You should give lessons to the guys at particular music store near me.
I'm looking in to other sources of info; if I can find one at a local music store (perhaps the one where they have the little honesty problem) I will demo it there then buy it from you! To bad I'm in Maine, I'd love to try it out, since the features sound like pretty much exactly what I need.
Good luck, and I'll see what I can find out.

'Try before you buy' is best for all things worth considering, so good luck with that. Also, uhm... Thanks

I know summertime is tight, but just so you know...
This pre is still here. Someone should buy it. You can't help but dig the sound.
